The landmark hotel on the River Thames, just off the Strand, is reopening gradually, with some food and drink outlets open now, while others will open as consumer confidence grows, and overnight stays will be available from 1 October.

The Savoy Grill reopened a few days earlier, on 21 September, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Thames Foyer, the magnificent glass domed atrium at the heart of the hotel, is now open for afternoon tea from Wednesday through Sunday and the Beaufort Bar, celebrated for its innovative drinks, is open from Thursday through Saturday evenings.

The pool and gym facilities will reopen on 1 October, when overnight stays will also be available.

The Savoy’s award-winning American Bar and restaurants Kaspar’s at The Savoy and Simpsons in the Strand are yet to reopen. No date has yet been given for these openings, but a hotel spokesperson said that they will reopen ‘as consumer confidence in travel, dining and drinking out increases’.

Covid-secure measures at the hotel are in line with Accor’s ALLSAFE standards which, in partnership with insurer AXA, also offers guests free access to teleconsultations with medical professionals.

Flexible new packages have been created to encourage guests to return, including Book with Confidence, which offers a 20% discount and free cancellation up to 72 hours prior to arrival, and the Savoy Staycation, which offers overnight accommodation in a Deluxe King Room or above, breakfast, complimentary early check-in and late check-out, free parking and £100-£250 credit per stay to be spent at the hotel (from £760 per night and available until 12 January 2021).

You can also Stay for Longer with four nights for the price of three (bookable until 30 December 2020 for stays until 12 January 2021), or enjoy some Family Moments with 50% off a second room, complimentary breakfast, complimentary meals for children under 5 (50% off the children’s menu for kids aged 12 and under), and a family pass to the London Aquarium (from £882 per night, available for stays until 12 January 2021).
