Find flower shops for the most beautiful bouquets with our guide to five of the best independent florists in west and north west London…

1 Scarlet & Violet, Kensal Rise
Celebrating a decade since opening back in 2006, Scarlet & Violet has been a valuable and colourful part of life on Chamberlayne Road, Kensal Rise. We love the atmosphere here, as well as the scents and lots of excitable chatter as locals come together to discuss and learn more about the new deliveries every day.

2 The Wildflower Cafe, Notting Hill
An entry into this round-up with a difference, the award-winning Wildflower Café in Notting Hill is as much about food as it is flowers. Everything you eat at The Wildflower Café – the cakes, the granola, the pasta, the pastries – is made freshly on the premises and is always cooked to order. They are also obsessed with coffee… Oh, and the flowers aren’t bad either.

3 Wild at Heart, Westbourne Grove
In 1993, the residents of Westbourne Grove commissioned celebrated architect Piers Gough to design an elegant landmark in the heart of the community, a colourful hive of activity that became Wild at Heart’s first shop. The brainchild of Nikki Tibbles, Wild at Heart is famed for its opulent and unique style, with a team of events planners and florists.

4 Harper & Tom’s, Notting Hill
Here’s where you will uncover a bit of a history lesson: Harper & Tom’s were the first in London to replace the ‘layered’ bouquet with what has become known as a ‘tied bunch’. We are not sure if we prefer the intimacy of their kiosk on the corner of Elgin Crescent and Kensington Park Road, or the colourful splendour of their shop on Clarendon Road.

5 The Flower Yard, Chelsea
Go Dutch at The Flower Yard… This florist offers same day delivery to all London postcodes including Chelsea and Kensington, and they believe in offering you the highest standard in arrangements, creating innovative, modern and classic florist designs using only the freshest Dutch flowers. The Sydney Street site is most welcoming.
