Kate Moss, Gillian Anderson and Eddie Redmayne have donated clothing and curios for Sue Ryder’s first ever pop-up shop
Opening for one day only in Mayfair, on Friday 19 October 2018, the Sue Ryder charity pop-up shop at Bonhams – one of London’s grandest auction houses – aims to raise funds for people with life changing neurological conditions.
Famous faces, including Sam Smith, Daniel Radcliffe, Susie Cave and Iskra Lawrence have donated personal items, ranging from clothing and accessories to curios including Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne’s signed copy of his original The Theory of Everything script.
The script is particularly apt, since the Professor Stephen Hawking biopic documents how he defied all expectations to become one of the world’s greatest minds despite being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
‘It seemed a fitting tribute to the memory of Stephen to donate my signed script from The Theory of Everything to Sue Ryder,’ said Redmayne.
‘The charity provides vital support to people living with MND and I’m delighted that funds raised from my donation will help to support people living with this and other life-changing conditions.’
Model and fashion icon Kate Moss, who has donated a signed copy of her coffee-table tome Kate by Kate Moss to the shop.
Other celebrities to donate to the cause include Philip Treacy, Henry Holland, Daniel Radcliffe, Karren Brady and Sam Smith
‘I regularly donate to my local Sue Ryder shop in north London and I’m delighted to be supporting the charity’s first pop-up shop,’ said Moss.
Other celebrities to donate to the cause include Philip Treacy, Henry Holland, Daniel Radcliffe, Ronan Keating, Karren Brady and Sam Smith, who has donated a signed, limited-edition Sam Smith vinyl.
Celebrity donated items will be placed in to a silent auction, giving those that can’t travel to the shop the opportunity to get involved and bid. The auction is live online now until 23.59 on Monday 22 October. All silent auction items will be available to view in the shop on 19 October.
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives, whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition.
The pop-up is open from 10am-4.30pm on Friday 19 October at Bonhams, 101 New Bond Street, Mayfair W1S 1SR. To bid in the silent auction see givergy.com
