SOUTH WEST LONDON’S FITNESS NEWS: AUG 2015

What’s new on the health and fitness scene? We’ve got details of Tennis Tuesdays from Nike and the Lawn Tennis Association, and more…

Tennis Tuesdays, a national campaign to encourage women to play tennis, is the brainchild of the Lawn Tennis Association and Nike. Ok, you may not have Serena Williams’ serve but that’s the whole point: much in the same way that the This Girl Can national campaign has inspired many of us to get active no matter how we look or how well we do it, Tennis Tuesdays encourages women to enjoy tennis and learn new skills through social games with one another. Each week’s session focuses on a different skill, and rackets and coaches are provided. Sessions are available for all abilities (there is the opportunity to match play with other women at your level as well as with professional coaches) and cost around £8 each.

Fulham resident and healthy-eating ambassador Madeleine Shaw has teamed up with Savse smoothies to create a range of ‘premium Super Juices’ Get the Glow. The tree cold-pressed juices come in three flavours: Protein Punch that tastes like a healthy piña colada, Sea Green (seaweed, fennel and mint) and Raspberry Beets (beetroot, raw cacao and ginger).
