LONDON SPAS: 5 OF THE BEST IN NOTTING HILL AND HOLLAND PARK

Whether you’re looking to indulge in a day of pampering or you’re in need of a speedy but brilliant pedicure, here are five of the most relaxing spas in Notting Hill and Holland Park

1. Cowshed

Not many spas have a farmhouse café serving ham and cheese toasties, but this neighbourhood venue in Clarendon Cross just so happens to be in the minority. If you’re after something more indulgent than a blueberry muffin, try the Cowgroom Maintenance treatment which includes a speedy facial, manicure and eyebrow tidy with two therapists working in unison for £80. 119 Portland Road, W11. cowshedonline.com

2. Ayanna Spa

This small spa on Holland Park Avenue is easily missed, but for what they lack in exuberance they make up for in expertise. The staff are very knowledgeable about skincare and inside the spa has a calm atmosphere. The Lumafirm Body Firm and Glow wrap treatment, though expensive, is ideal for nourishing the skin and leaving it silky smooth, £90. There’s a great stock of Pevonia products too. 146 Holland Park Ave, W11. ayannaspa.co.uk

3. Privet Body

Inside, this is more like a Black Forest cabin than a spa. They love the bucolic theme, creating a space filled with plants and beauticians known as ‘expert gardeners’. The Bonsai Makeovers at Privet offer all-in-one hour-long treatments for busy clients. Try the ‘All Spruced Up’ makeover which includes a mini muriad facial, neck and shoulder massage and pedicure for £75. 214 Kensington Park Road, W11. privetbody.co.uk

4. Myz Beauty Boutique

Set up by the former fashion buyer Maryam Zani, this is more stylish than your average nail bar, with comfy reclining chairs and a spacious pedicure area. There are massages, body treatments and facials available too, but if you’re looking to tidy up your feet, try Maryam’s favourite, a 45-minute pedicure including a relaxing foot massage for £40. 20 Powis Terrace, W11. myznailsboutique.com

5 Gina Conway

This Westbourne Grove Aveda salon has won so many awards we’ve started to lose track. Gina is known for her hair-styling skills, but the spa offers a varied list of holistic and practical beauty treatments too. try the Purifying Aroma Stone Infusion massage, £78 for 60 minutes with a specialist (or book with a Guru for £90). Better yet, combine a spa and hair salon treatment for the ultimate afternoon extravagance. 62 Westbourne Grove W2. ginaconwaysalons.co.uk
