CHARLOTTE CAVE LAUNCHES SALON & SPA IN BALHAM

Charlotte Cave’s salon in Clapham Old Town has had a loyal following since she opened her doors in 2010, and now her new Balham outpost is set to be even bigger and better with the addition of a basement cinema…

Words: Madeleine Howell

Charlotte Cave Store & Services  in Balham is a true glamour den. The new space on Balham High Road – designed with some serious pampering in mind – is centred around a silver birch tree, which connects the hair lounge upstairs with the cinema and licensed bar in the basement.

Cave herself has worked with everyone from Gaga to Coldplay, and her salons specialise in teaching clients how to recreate the professional look at home with luxurious products including Sisley, Shiseido, BioEffect and Ellis Faas.

Not one to do things by halves, her launch party this month featured a DJ, characters from The Grand Budapest Hotel, a fortune teller and cocktails from Balham’s Lost & Found bar.

You can book the space yourself for birthdays and hen parties, and once a month, an Ofsted nanny will be on hand to entertain the kids with films, smoothies and popcorn while weary parents sit back and enjoy the grooming services in sound-proofed treatment rooms.

Book in for a Hot Stone Ceremony, or if that doesn’t cut it, opt for The Body Overhaul. which includes body brushing and a body wrap with hot paraffin wax and essential oils. For him, there’s The Ultimate package, which includes a Sisley facial, pedicure and massage. We’re already hooked.
