SAVILLS OPENS SECOND BATTERSEA OFFICE

As Savills opens a second office in Battersea, The Resident meets the team from Savills Waterfront, who reveal why riverside living will never lose its appeal in London

Savills newest office on Battersea Bridge Road will open on the 16th August. The office will be multi-discipline, with Savills waterfront and south west London residential development teams working alongside a residential sales and lettings department.

Sarah Gretton, Head of Waterfront Sales

2015 is going to be an exciting year for Savills Waterfront, moving into our new office on Battersea Bridge Road by the end of this year and expanding our team. I have worked on Waterfront property for over 15 years now and I have specialised in London Thames properties since 2005, so I have a deep passion for my business and believe in the strong investment it offers.  I have had the pleasure of working with many different teams across London and I have built up an acute understanding of people’s needs, identifying options that they might not have thought to consider, but that could be the perfect fit for them. This is what this job is all about and why I love it so much: building trusting and long lasting relationships, transacting business with integrity based on a vast knowledge, understanding and love for waterfront properties.

I started my career in property in 2009 and it has been enormously exciting to see our Waterfront Department expand so quickly into a dedicated team, which offers a specialist riverside service to our clients. Riverside living is a lifestyle choice, which is becoming ever popular with buyers and tenants from all walks of life. Often a river view is a primary requirement, above a postcode or location, which is why 78% of our buyers on the river last year bought in areas they weren’t originally looking. We are seeing an influx of buyers from more central parts of London, in search of more space, incredible views or the convenience of lock-up-and-leave living. 2015 is going to be a very exciting year on the Thames, with a number of spectacular new schemes completing, such as the new Ronson Capital Partners development, Riverwalk.

Poppy Chenevix-Trench, Sales Negotiator

Having worked in sales for five years, I moved to Savills in February 2014. I have joined the Waterfront department at such an exciting time, with our office opening on Battersea Bridge Road, our team expanding and all the development that is taking place along the Thames. In our department we sit in different offices along the river everyday, which enables us to offer our properties to a wider audience. Living in a waterside development myself I understand what a fantastic place it is to live, I am passionate about the properties that we sell, the sense of space encourages people to see London in a totally different light. I spend my free time cycling along the Thames and recently completed a 300-mile cycle across England for Child Bereavement and the RNLI along with colleagues, clients and Wandsworth residents.

After working in construction, building a buy-to-let portfolio and with over five years in the London letting industry, I have seen the property industry from almost every angle! Born in the Lake District, the Waterfront is an area that I’ve always been attracted to, and none more so than in central London. I love the spectacular scenery and sense of tranquillity mixed with the vibrant lifestyle in the heart of the City. It is such an iconic location,  some of the most desirable property in the world, and, considering the scale of the forthcoming development, it’s an incredibly exciting place to be. Investment potential is vast; the draw of the river results in consistently strong demand, so whether investors are looking for a good yield, or an income to tide them over while taking advantage of capital growth, there is a buoyant market available.
