Pantone, the authority on colour, has declared the ‘timeless and enduring’ Classic Blue as its Color of the Year 2020. The Resident picks out the best interiors buys for your home in next year’s hottest colour

A reassuring presence instilling calm, confidence and connection… that’s how Pantone sees Classic Blue, and in this frenetic world of rushing about from A to B, its a vision we can get on board with.

According to the Pantone Color Institute, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue is ‘timeless and enduring hue elegant in its simplicity’, ‘suggestive of the sky at dusk’, highlighting ‘our desire for a dependable and stable foundation from which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era’.

‘We are living in a time that requires trust and faith,’ said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. ‘It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on.’

Imprinted in our psyches as a restful color, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue brings a sense of peace and tranquility, a reflective blue tone that also aides concentration, making it ideal for the living room, bedroom or even home office.
