Rachel Center finds out what makes Italian kitchen design company Composit Kitchens in Wimbledon stand out from the crowd

Quality, style, and design — the principal philosophy behind Composit Kitchens, Wimbledon’s latest go-to destination for contemporary kitchenware, and the only showroom of its kind in the UK. Situated on the home improvement hubbub Haydons Road, Composit Kitchens mission is to help turn your kitchen dreams into a reality by providing customers with exceptional, one-of-a-kind furnishings that are made and designed for life.
Composit is able to achieve this goal through personalisation.’It’s an entirely bespoke process,’ says Faisal Al-Sheikh Khazal, Director of Composit Kitchens. Composit Kitchens isn’t looking to merely sell a product but rather provide customers with an enjoyable experience in choosing their next kitchen. ‘People come in for a consult and we have them choose from our twelve different styles available, then a colour, and after that start work with what they have in terms of space and then create a 3D model of what they kitchen will look like on the computer,’ he says. ‘We try to make the process as cosy as possible.’
Composit source their products directly from Italy in an effort to stand out in the UK kitchen market. ‘A lot of kitchen companies here use German manufacturers such as Alno, Hacker or Schmitt, but we didn’t want to be compared to those guys,’ says Faisal. ‘Germans are known for quality but we wanted quality and style. We wanted to have something extra, we wanted to be different.’

Composit kitchens employs renowned, award-winning architects and interior designers from all over Italy. ‘What I like most about Composit designs are that they have little hidden gems that you wouldn’t pick up unless it was demonstrated to you.’ He quickly points to a kitchen model featuring an adjustable splashboard, which Faisal is keen to point out is an up-and-coming kitchen trend. ‘When choosing a kitchen, the most important things to always consider are design, quality, and colour.’ Faisal also claims that Composit Kitchens is the most green kitchen company in the UK. ‘We sell only recycled wood and all of our manufacturing systems are recycled as well,’ he said. ‘Everything we do is environmentally friendly.’
Composit Kitchens opened its doors in January of this year in response to a demand in the kitchenware market. ‘My business partner has worked in the industry for many years and told me there was a lot of demand for kitchens,’ he says. ‘There was a suitable space available in Wimbledon [On Haydons Road] so it was a small idea that turned into a business venture. I have always designed houses for my parents and family so it was a real passion that turned into a job.’
Faisal has since made his corner on Haydons road a home. ‘Wimbledon is a very nice area. I like to walk around and frequent Hot Pink Grill, they have the most delicious burgers.’ As for the future, Faisal wants to stay in Wimbledon as long as he can, but would eventually like to grow the business. ‘The building industry is doing quite well and we are in the process of expanding in and outside of the UK right now.’ Either way, Composit is sure to turn your house into a home.
