Tom’s Kitchen has opened a new deli and bar on board HMS Belfast, with panoramic views of fellow London landmarks, Tower Bridge and The Shard. This new location is a historic one, home to the most important surviving WW2 Royal Navy warships
Tom Aikens’ new quayside venue boasts a fresh, modern interior with a charming rooftop bar and alfresco seating by the river, perfect for summer dining. The deli offers a range of seasonal Tom’s Kitchen Deli dishes, including a Chicken & Chorizo Sandwich with beef tomato and spiced mayo on pumpkin bread.
The rooftop bar offers a menu of nautical themed cocktails, such as The Black Pearl (blackberry infused Beefeater gin, lemon and Chambord blackberry liqueur); The Kraken (Four Roses Bourbon, maple syrup and Curious Brew stout); and The Lifeboat Sidecar (Blackberry and Vanilla infused Martel cognac and Cointreau). A range of wines, beers and ciders are also available, as well as a selection of nibbles and sharing boards. The bar is part covered and part open air, allowing both Londoners and visitors to enjoy a new alfresco spot, just in time for spring.
‘The opportunity to create a Tom’s Kitchen Deli and Bar in such an extraordinary space is a real privilege,’ says Tom Aikens, founder of Tom’s Kitchen restaurants and delis. ‘Launching a new destination bar at one of London’s most iconic landmarks is very exciting and we hope it will become a new favourite on the South Bank for Londoners and visitors alike.’
‘We’re excited to be working with Tom’s Kitchen on this venture,’ added Barry Smith, Assistant Director of Commercial Services at IWM added. ‘The bar and deli will offer HMS Belfast visitors the chance to relax and enjoy the scenic views over the river, adding a new element to the experience of touring a historic Second World War warship.’
