Set to launch on the 4th of July – England’s so-called ‘Covid Independence Day’ – The Mandrake Cabanas are exclusive drinking and dining spaces set on the Fitzrovia hotel’s hidden terrace.
There will be 10 private cabanas, created to transport you to a mini tropical paradise where you can reconnect with friends and family after so much time apart. There is also a private dining room tucked behind the main restaurant.
The cabanas will be themed in line with cultural activations at the hotel and include a TV screen to stream wellness workshops or artistic programmes, or the guest’s own choice of music or entertainment.
There will also be table service for drinking and dining, with a menu of South American-inspired dishes from YOPO – the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant – and cocktails from Waeska bar. Dishes will include grilled lamb-shoulder tacos with raw pea, jalapeno and tomatillo salsa, fried fish tacos with spring cabbage, sour cream and pumpkin seed salsa, and snacks of courgette flowers and smoked cheese quesadillas.
YOPO restaurant and Jurema, the award-winning outdoor terrace space at the core of the hotel, will also reopen on 4 July. Both offer ample space for social distancing, with tables distanced in line with Government guidance.
The first-floor Jurema terrace is one of the largest outdoor spaces of any hotel in London. Designed by world-renowned landscape architects Bureau Bas Smets and winner of Best Outdoor Space at the Global AHEAD Awards in 2019, the terrace has rattan-style furniture, cosy cushions and an abundance of greenery. Open throughout summer, it offers alfresco drinking and dining from lunch to dinner.
