The Ivy Kensington Brasserie has gone all out for this year’s BBC Proms, partnering with London-based artist Josh Bristow to create their very own bit of pomp and circumstance
Best known for his work with brands such as Smythson of Bond Street, Bristow has created bespoke, intrinsically designed bunting alongside, plus a British-inspired flower wall of pink, red and yellow blooms, to cover the façade of the restaurant.
The bunting, inspired by Kensington’s iconic landmarks and the wonders of London, is a fitting tribute to The Proms, the UK’s greatest classical musical festival, which is hosted at the nearby Royal Albert Hall.
The restaurant will be bedecked with the bunting and blooms from 13 July until 7 September – the duration of the Proms – during which time you’ll also be able to dine from the brasserie’s pre-Proms set menu, which will also be adorned with Bristow’s colourful sketch of the Royal Albert Hall.
Priced at £25 for two courses with a cocktail and £29 for three courses with a cocktail, the pre-Proms set menu features the likes of smoked mackerel, roasted butternut, cod goujons and minute steak with thick cut chips. The menu is available Monday to Friday, 11.30am to 6.30pm, and can be enjoyed on the newly updated outdoor terrace or inside the main restaurant and bar.
The Ivy Kensington Brasserie’s bar team has also conjured up two exclusive cocktails; the Classical Lady and Strawberry Symphony, priced £9.75 each.
