The Cheeseboard Cheesecake Arrives in Time for Christmas!

When is a cheeseboard not a cheeseboard? When it’s also a cheesecake. Meet the Pleesecake, the cheeseboard cheesecake that’s set to end those savoury versus sweet Christmas Day battles…

Behold the UK’s first cheeseboard cheesecake!

Created by painter-decorator turned cheesecake connoisseur Joe Moruzzi, who appeared on Dragon’s Den earlier this year, the colossal sweet/savoury hybrid is loaded with a whopping 15 different toppings, including six varieties of cheeses like Stilton, red Leicester, Parmesan, Wensleydale and goats cheese.

In addition to the nearly 1KG of cheese, additional toppings include celery, grapes, figs infused with a three-year aged balsamic, redcurrants, walnuts, pickled onions, gherkins and an apple and pear spiced chutney – finished off with a devilish drizzle of Mazzetti ‘Four Leaf’ balsamic vinegar.

The cheesecake base is created from rich cream cheese, which a cheeky hint of chutney base, all supported by a layer of broken cream crackers.

Created in partnership with balsamic vinegar Mazzetti, which is loved by celebrity chefs including Theo Randall, the limited-edition festive showstopper stands at an impressive nine inches in height and diameter.

Moruzzi, who owns the business Pleesecakes, has seen a number of his jaw-dropping cheesecakes go viral over recent months, with his whimsical creations generating thousands of Instagram likes.

He also has something of a celebrity cult following, with Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, John Terry, Joe Wicks and newlyweds Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams all having tasted Moruzzi’s creations.

The Mazzetti Savoury Pleesecake, priced £55 or £7.50 for a mini version, is available until the end of December from pleesecakes.com or Selfridge’s London concierge service
