5 Restaurants Delivering Sunday Roasts in London

The Sunday roast is sacred, and while we can’t head to our favourite local pub for the traditional Sunday lunch right now, we can now order in from the savvy pubs and restaurants that have set up a roast delivery service. Design My Night’s Talia Gilliham hunts out some of the best…

1 The Coal Rooms, Peckham
One roast that’s tough to beat is The Coal Rooms in Peckham. Taking the much-loved weekend meal seriously, you can expect perfectly crisp potatoes, chunky cuts of tender meat, from 40-day-aged Galloway rump to lamb saddle, and flawlessly golden Yorkshire puddings, all topped with a drizzle of beef dripping to seal the deal. This is one wholesome feast that’s worth the delivery wait.

2 Jones & Sons, Dalston
If you’re looking for a Sunday roast with the works, Jones & Sons will not disappoint. They’re treating home-stayers to a huge selection of comfort food classics alongside their fully-loaded roasts, featuring meat options ranging from rib-eye to pork belly and decorated with a whole heap of sides, including their ever-indulgent cauliflower cheese. As if that wasn’t enough, they’re making placing an order pretty much impossible to turn down with optional wine pairings.

3 Jimmy’s Isolation Hampers, online
Pop-up king Jimmy Garcia certainly won’t be giving his crown up any time soon as he’s well and truly winning London over with his deliverable food hampers during lockdown. One of them contains a Sunday roast for two, starring a whole chicken, pork belly or a veggie beetroot wellington, and extra goodies to go with it like a truffle cauliflower and leek gratin and flavour-packed real-deal gravy. You can also choose beer, wine, prosecco and champagne as a boozy add-on.

4 Parlour Kensal, Kensal Green
If you fancy doing the cooking but need top-notch ingredients to really make something special, say hello to Parlour Kensal. If you’ve previously visited this West London establishment, you’ll know that they don’t mess around when it comes to sourcing the best quality produce, so you’d better do it justice (no pressure). Slow cooked Cotswold lamb shoulder, a selection of fresh vegetables and everything you need for an almighty post-roast cheese board, are just some of the treats on their extensive farmers market-style menu.

5 The Stag, Hampstead
Home to one of Hampstead’s loveliest beer gardens, The Stag isn’t letting lockdown stop them from brightening up our Sundays by making a takeaway menu for their stonking roasts. They’re offering every type of meat you could want on your plate, plus a veggie-friendly option and of course all of those hearty trimmings you’d expect from a full-on pub feast.
