6 OF THE BEST ROOFTOP BARS IN KENSINGTON & CHELSEA

When the weather is good, there’s no where better than being on a rooftop. From Kensington Roof Gardens to The Dock Kitchen, we pick six of the best rooftop restaurants and bars across Fulham, Kensington, Notting Hill and The West End

1 Aqua Spirit
Slick and extravagant, Aqua Spirit commands almost picture-perfect sights of central London from its position at the top of the iconic Dickins and Jones building on Regent Street. While downstairs low lighting and decadent gold hold sway over Aqua London’s two restaurants – one Japanese and the other Spanish – upstairs the bar’s dark wooden panelling and cream décor lends it a classic feel. We recommend following dinner with a drink in the moonlight.

2 Kensington Roof Gardens
Glamour and greenery intertwine at London’s most famous rooftop venue. A lush oasis spread over 1.5 acres, there are three unique themed gardens abundant with versatile flora, the most resplendent being the Moorish influenced Spanish Garden. On the top floor sits Babylon restaurant where you can enjoy views across London while enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

Dock Kitchen

Dock Kitchen is owned by Stevie Parle

5 Dock Kitchen
Stevie Parle’s restaurant combines the very best of both worlds: excellent, seasonal produce and a stylish Victorian Wharf building complete with metal ball pendant lights and black fan chairs by designer, and downstairs neighbour, Tom Dixon. Outside the expansive cobbled terrace overlooks the Grand Union Canal making it an inviting place for a chilled bottle of wine on a summer’s day.

Boasting breathtaking views of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, not to mention London’s burgeoning skyline, Chinese restaurant Min Jiang is located in the heart of Kensington. The eye-catching red interior is mellowed by contemporary Chinese furnishings, providing a welcoming environment to diners. The must-try dish has to be the succulent Beijing Duck, cooked in a wood-fired oven according to ancient Chinese tradition.
