12 LONDON RESTAURANTS OPEN ON CHRISTMAS DAY

If you feel like abandoning the kitchen altogether this year, the good news is these brilliant London restaurants and hotels will be serving dinner on Christmas Day

1. Min Jiang, Kensington

Based on the 10th floor of the Royal Garden Hotel, Min Jiang restaurant presents Christmas dinner with an incredible view of the London skyline. 2. The Lancaster, Lancaster Gate

The Island Grill restaurant at this Hyde Park hotel will be serving a traditional five-course Christmas Day Menu priced at £55 per person on 25 December, served from noon until 6pm. Lancaster Terrace, W2 2TY, islandrestaurant.co.uk

3. Savoy Grill, The Strand

Want to celebrate in style? Book a table at this iconic hotel, where Head Chef Kim Woodward will  be serving a six-course lunch and a five-course dinner. Roast Yorkshire turkey with sage and onion stuffed leg has to be the highlight of the menu. This will be followed by a pear and ginger cheesecake or a classic lemon tart. Lunch is served from 12pm – 4pm, £180 per guest. Dinner is served from 7pm – 10pm, £140 per guest. 5. K West Hotel, Shepherd’s Bush

Studio Kitchen at this four-star West London hotel will be serving up a three-course festive menu, priced at £39.95 per person. There’s good news for those who aren’t fans of Christmas pudding too as the dessert menu includes a delicious alternative – Baileys white chocolate mousse. Richmond Way, W14 0AX, k-west.co.uk

6. The Cinnamon Club, Westminster

Bored of turkey with all the trimmings? Enjoy a four-course feast and a glass of Christmas punch at this iconic Indian restaurant. Starters, including Keralan style lobster soup flamed with brandy, will be followed by an interim course of Bengali-style vegetable cakes before the main course of South Indian spiced goose breast is served. The meal will finish with Vivek’s signature garam masala Christmas pudding with nutmeg custard and spiced carrot cake with cinnamon ice cream. £95 per person. The Old Westminster Library, 30-32 Great Smith St, SW1P 3BU, cinnamonclub.com

7. Chapters, Blackheath

This popular Blackheath village dining spot will be serving up a traditional Christmas feast. Guests will be offered a choice of four starters and four main courses including roast turkey, as well as four desserts, coffee and mince pies. 8. The Narrow, Limehouse

Enjoy impressive views of the city as you tuck into Christmas lunch at this riverside restaurant. Head Chef Gerald Mirey’s six-course menu will feature dishes of marinated Isle of Mull salmon, Welsh lamb rump, Brixham plaice with salsify and shrimp, Brillat-Savarin with truffle and chestnut and chocolate Yule log with Christmas pudding ice-cream. 9. Rosewood London, Holborn

There’s a choice of dining options at this luxury hotel. The Holborn Dining Room is offering a set Christmas Day menu for £70 per person, which features a choice of five starters, five mains, five desserts and a cheese board (highlights include the lobster thermidor tart, rib-eye ‘club cut,’ and homemade mincemeat Bakewell pie). The hotel’s Mirror Room restaurant will also serve lunch from 11am – 5pm, £150 per person. 10. Quaglino’s, Mayfair

 
Decked out with glittering Christmas trees and twinkling fairy lights, Quaglino’s will be transformed into a winter wonderland for the festive season.The restaurant is open from midday to 7pm (last orders are at 4pm). 11. York & Albany, Camden

Head Chef Will Stanyer’s six-course menu will start with a selection of canapés followed by starters such as Cornish crab salad or duck and ham hock terrine. Choose between Norfolk Bronze turkey breast, English beef fillet with braised brisket or roast monkfish tail for main course then save room for dessert – Valrhona chocolate delice or Christmas pudding and custard – followed by mince pies. 12. Paradise by Way of Kensal Green

Kensal’s best-decorated pub, Paradise, has upped the ante when it comes to its restaurant menu, thanks to the arrival of chef Cat Ashton, formerly of Petersham Nurseries. The Paradise dining room will be open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day offering diners Ashton’s contemporary European menu. On Christmas Day itself, there will be a seven-course feast for the taking (£95 for adults, £35 for children).
