LONDON’S MOST EXOTIC AFTERNOON TEA

Want afternoon tea with a twist? W London’s Spice Market has launched a South East Asian-inspired menu featuring pork buns, spring rolls and candied sweet treats

Afternoon tea is no new thing, but it’s not always about finger sandwiches, scones and clotted cream. W London has just launched a unique new menu at its Spice Market restaurant, and it’s inspired by South East Asian street food.

The result? A spicy tea featuring a variety of exotic and innovative treats. Steamed buns with glazed pork belly, Thai shrimp cake and fresh spring rolls tick the savoury box, while green tea and white chocolate and Ovaltine and candied fennel are displayed on the handcrafted tea stand.

Aside from the selection of black, green and white teas, there’s also a Thai Spice cocktail on offer, made with ginger-infused vodka, lime juice, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf and coriander. A gluten-free version of the Spice Tea is also available on request.

The Spice Market Afternoon Tea is served daily in the W Lounge from 2pm – 5pm, and is £29 per person. wlondon.co.uk/w-hotel-bar
