Located in a cute courtyard to the rear of The Montague on the Gardens hotel – which sits on a beautiful street of Georgian terrace houses next to The British Museum – The Montague Beach Bar is Bloomsbury’s version of the Bahamas.
Complete with real sand, a beach-hut style thatched roof, cocktails, palm trees and actual real life sand, it might be the closest many of us get to an exotic experience this summer while travel restrictions remain in place.
The chef will fire up the BBQ, grilling a range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, with a line-up of tempting desserts, including ice cream cones, available too.
As with any good beach hut, cocktails are served in coconuts (piña coladas all round!), but there’s a superb selection of wine, beers and spirits too.
‘Piña coladas all round!’
You can book a 90-minute slot between 1pm and 5pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with a Montague burger and chips plus three drinks (choose from house wine, beer or beach cocktails) for £29pp.
The Montague Beach Bar was voted Best Summer Party Venue at The London Venue Awards 2017, so if you’re looking to catch up with friends, family or colleagues in style this summer, why not opt for an unlimited drinks package?
The Beach Bar Party Experience, priced £99pp and available from 17 May, offers exclusive use of The Beach Bar, Conservatory and Leopard Bar Terrace, a floral garland, welcome coconut cocktail, 10-item summer BBQ menu, unlimited drinks for three hours, a dedicated event coordinator and the option of a complimentary after party with DJ. Bespoke packages are available upon request.
While there, get some good snaps, tag them with #SurfMontague on Instagram, and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a luxury escape to Guernsey for two people, including flights.
