London’s Top 5 Afternoon Teas

Londoners do love their afternoon teas, and the very best of the best were recognised at the second annual Afternoon Tea Awards, sponsored by Newby Teas, on Monday 17 July 2017.

Sponsored by Newby Teas, the event was hosted by afternoontea.co.uk at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel and were presented by author and star baker, Martha Collison.

And the winners are:

  • Best Traditional Afternoon Tea: Hotel Café Royal
  • Best Contemporary Afternoon Tea: Art Tea at Rosewood London
  • Best Themed Afternoon Tea: Churchill Afternoon Tea at The Wellesley
  • Best Children’s Afternoon Tea: Millennium Hotel London Mayfair
  • Best Tea Service: Fortnum & Mason (also Highly Commended for Best Traditional Afternoon Tea)

The judging team included internationally renowned food and beverage experts Cherish Finden and Martin Chiffers, who assessed all aspects of the afternoon tea experience, paying particular attention to the service, food and drink.
