The UK’s first permanent vegan butcher opened late last year, right here in London – have you paid a visit yet?

Following the fun of Sainsbury’s 2019 pop-up vegan butcher in Bethnal Green, a London stalwart of the vegan scene has gone one better by opening a permanent parlour of meat-free and dairy-free goodies in Islington.
Launched by the team behind Rudy’s Vegan Diner in Camden, Rudy’s Vegan Butcher opened on World Vegan Day, which comes around every year on 1 November, with a huge free ‘baycon’ giveaway.
The vegan butcher on Upper Street stocks a number of Rudy’s plant-based alternatives, including homemade pastrami (made from wheat protein, kidney beans and beetroot), dirty burger patties (made with soya and wheat protein) and creamy cashew nut ‘cheeze’ sauce, as well as chilli-non-carne, ‘soysage’ patties, black puddin’, a rack of jack, ‘lobstah’ salad, chick’n lover pate and shredded BBQ pulled ‘porc’.
So grab your chef’s whites and get creative in the kitchen, recreating the specials you’ve had at Rudy’s, like the Rudy’s Reuben, Dirty Burger, Grilled Chick’n Caesar Salad and Mac ‘n’ Cheeze.
Not local? No problem, deliveries are available nationwide.
