Head Chef Steve Groves and his team at Roux at Parliament Square have developed a unique Christmas Family Feast menu intended for groups of eight or more. The feast will be served in large tureens and dishes in one of the restaurant’s beautiful private dining rooms so that everyone can dive in to create that cosy, convivial home-style Christmas without any of the hard work. The four-course menu of French celebration dishes includes saucisson Lyonnais en brioche, whole salt-baked Chalk Stream trout and a whole roast Goosnargh duck, carved tableside, with Brussels sprouts, marmalade stuffing and roast potatoes. Sofitel London St James transforms itself into a festive paradise every December, and this year the theme is Enchanted Journey, inspired by the travels and excitement of the Christmas holidays. Expertly crafted menus reflect the 5-star hotel’s elegant French style of cooking, using local British ingredients, the Festive three-course menu includes mouth-watering dishes such as grilled Scottish scallops, braised venison and Bûche de Noël, priced at £39pp or £49 with a glass of champagne. Sofitel London St James provides event and banqueting facilities for up to 180 guests and a boardroom with its own private dining room for 12 people. 3 Ella Canta, Mayfair
Since Mexico is one of the largest mining countries in the world, Ella Canta has used the precious metal as the inspiration for its decadent seven-course festive menu. You’ll start with a corn and cheese gordita with pickled radish, oregano and burnt avocado, followed by a refreshing shrimp aguachile with green mango, pineapple and kiwi, and then a corn soup with crispy shallots, popcorn and chives. Then comes pan-fried seabass with red and green pipian mole, roasted courgettes and chayote, followed by a meaty dish of pork belly, black bean sauce, pickles chiles and pork crackling. For dessert, it’s raspberry and blackberry sorbet and caramalised golden pumpkin seeds, followed by cacao churros with festive eggnog ice-cream. The Into the Gold menu is priced £80pp and available from 24 November until 23 December.

4 Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington
Royal Garden Hotel is a five-star hotel in Kensington with a range of private event suites for up to 430 guests, with award-winning cuisine and five-star service. The group lunch menu, available 1-24 December, will offer Yuletide delights such as cured-ham-wrapped Norfolk bronze turkey tournedos with chestnut stuffing, ham croquette, roast ratte potatoes and root vegetables, as well as Christmas pudding with brandy sauce or a festive maple and pecan tart with spiced pumpkin dome. Host an intimate celebration in one of the hotel’s private dining rooms, choosing from one of three Christmas packages priced from £38pp. Park Terrace offers a unique style, attentive service and seasonal British cuisine. Choose from the Feature Room, a friendly setting for up to 10, or for a larger Christmas gathering, the Private Dining Room accommodates up to 40. 5 Min Jiang at Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington
For something a little different, why not feast on legendary wood-fired Beijing duck for Christmas lunch or dinner at Min Jiang, Royal Garden Hotel’s 10th floor authentic Chinese restaurant? As well as the Beijing duck, there’s also sautéed gong bao corn-fed chicken, sautéed rib-eye beef in barbeque sauce, seasonal vegetables stir fried with garlic and fried rice with diced duck on offer. Available from 1-24 December for £55pp, including a glass of Louis Roederer Brut Premier, Christmas crackers and novelties. The Crystal, overlooking London’s historic Royal Victoria Dock, not only houses exhibitions illustrating pioneering ecological advances, but is also one of the capital’s most innovative event spaces. Parties of 80 or more can enjoy a Taste of Christmas banquet, with exclusive use of a private dining room decorated to a White Christmas theme. You’ll then be served a three-course meal specially created by the venue’s catering and events partner, Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, featuring roast turkey or salt-baked celeriac. Francesco Mazzei’s Battersea restaurant is serving a four-course feast overlooking the River Thames, starting with cotechino, lentils and shrimps, followed by marsala broth tortellini. For the main event, choose between roast sea bass, artichoke romana and smoked potato mash, or veal chop with sage butter and winter truffle, all rounded off with Delizia al limone (£65pp). Open on Christmas Day.

9 Bryn Williams at Somerset House
Veggies rejoice! Bryn Williams’ veg-centric restaurant at Somerset House is offering a set menu for £55pp, including a three-course meal with half a bottle of wine, coffee or tea and petits fours. Dishes include the likes of celeriac soup with blue cheese, roasted cauliflower with cranberries and creamed polenta, and a poached mulled wine pear dessert with buttermilk panna-cotta. Traditional Christmas dishes such as ham hock terrine, turkey with trimmings and Christmas pudding are also on offer. Available from 20 November to 30 December for groups of nine or more.

10 Radici, Islington
Radici, chef Francesco Mazzei’s Islington trattoria, will be serving up five hearty courses with a glass of prosecco for £55pp. Start with the signature pumpkin and mascarpone soup, followed by sharing dishes of antipasti and a bucatini and aubergine timballo. For mains, the traditional turkey will be given an Italian makeover with pumpkin, lentils, cotechino and candied fruit. For dessert? A grilled panettone with cinnamon ice cream, of course! 11 Odette’s, Primrose Hill
Bryn Williams’ Primrose Hill restaurant, Odette’s, celebrated its 10-year anniversary this year, so you know you’re in good hands for a festive gathering. Two three-course menus, priced at £45 and £60, feature dishes like citrus-cured salmon, roast bronze turkey with duck fat potatoes and pigs in blankets, Cornish crab lasagne bisque and treacle-cured Welsh black beef. For dessert, choices include Christmas pudding, cranberry sorbet, bay leaf custard or the signature Odette’s Jaffa cake with Clementine and orange curd. Percy & Founders in Fitzrovia is offering a Christmas set menu for groups of 10-100 for £55pp. The menu offers options of roasted wild mushroom soup with truffle cream, mulled cider-cured trout, duck leg pâté and chicory and apple salad to start, followed by roast turkey, venison loin, roasted Chalk Stream trout and roast pumpkin dumplings for the main course. 13 Gaucho, various locations
Steak expert Gaucho is offering a fantastic alternative to turkey across all venues, with a three-course festive menu and welcome drink available for £48pp. Enjoy a signature juicy sirloin or fillet steak, served with the favourite Christmas trimmings of pigs in blankets, maple and chestnut stuffing, thyme and garlic potatoes, Brussels sprouts with onion and chestnuts and red wine and cranberry jus. Turkey lovers can still get their fix, with the option of a turkey Milanese with pickled red cabbage and celeriac puree. The menu is offered as an a la carte option for anyone from 26 November to 24 December, as well as for group Christmas bookings at Gaucho’s 12 sites across London.

Blanchette Brick Lane offers two set menus priced at £40 and £45, including a selection of chef Tam Storrar’s North African-inspired French sharing plates. Think truffle-stuffed baked camembert, steamed Cornish mussels with smoked bacon and cream, honey-glazed ham hock with Lyonnaise potatoes, mustard and caper sauce, crab claws with lemon and harrisa mayonnaise, and crispy duck leg. Desserts include croissant and vanilla pudding with Crème Anglaise or Christmas pudding and dark chocolate jalousie with eggnog ice cream. The Cote D’Azur private dining room seats up to 14 guests with no minimum spend or deposit required.

15 The Garden Café, Lambeth
The Garden Museum’s award-winning restaurant, The Garden Café, is celebrating Christmas with two bespoke set menus, which focus on modern dishes, seasonal produce and classic festive flavours. The Signature Christmas Menu, priced £20 for two courses or £25 for three, features roast carrots with fromage blanc or mackerel, fennel, orange and pomegranate salad to start, with pollock, braised ox cheek and crispy celeriac with creamed wild mushrooms to follow. The more decadent Gourmet Christmas Menu, priced £45 for three courses and sharing starters, begins with oysters, charcuterie and celeriac croquettes. Starters include game terrine and purple sprouting broccoli, while mains include turbot, ricotta gnudi or saddle of venison and boulangère potatoes. 19 Coal Rooms, Peckham
Coal Rooms in Peckham has launched a Christmas feasting menu exclusively for the new private dining room that showcases the restaurant’s signature dishes. Housed in the former ticket office of Peckham Rye train station, the restaurant, which recently appeared in the 2019 Good Food Guide as one of this year’s best new entrants, serves dishes prepared in the custom-built meat smoker and robata grill. The private dining room, kookily located in what used to be station’s ladies’ bathroom, can be booked for groups up to 12, offering a cosy setting for a festive feast.
