Aquavit has just launched the Skagenburger, a Nordic take on the crowd favourite. The burger is a hearty beef patty made from top quality short rib and skirt beef, topped with traditional shrimp Skagen (Norwegian shrimp in a mayonnaise, chive, dill, horseradish and lemon sauce). It’s then finished with a layer of melted Västerbotten cheese, smoked whole grain mustard mayonnaise, and sauteed onions, all served in brioche bun with pickled red onion, cucumber and salad. 3 Inside-Out Tofu Vegan Burger by The Mindful Chef x Hally’s, Parsons Green
Healthy recipe box delivery service Mindful Chef, together with Hally’s, the Californian-inspired restaurant in Parsons Green, have collaborated to create the an Asian-style plant-based burger. The Inside-Out Tofu Burger features a gluten-free protein-rich tofu bun and is packed with nutritious ingredients including an edamame bean patty, loaded with powerful antioxidants from matcha tea to ginger, as well as kimchi, pickled cucumber ribbons and radish slices, and finished with sweet chilli sauce. Don’t miss Mr Hyde’s National Burger Day Party at Hawker House on 30 August
The official National Burger Day party returns for its sixth year running on Thursday 30 August, taking over Street Feast at Hawker House for a huge burger bash with 17 patty powerhouses. Established burger pros like Bleecker St, Honest Burgers and Mac & Wild will be there, each with a one-off special for the day, as well as newbies Truffle, Pocho and Temper, plus a first time collaboration from Flank vs Salt Shed. Look out for meat-free magic from Pure Filth, too, which will be serving up the NBD party’s first ever vegan burger. There’ll be dessert courtesy of Chin Chin Labs, as well as bars serving slushies, craft brews and festival-sized cocktails, as well as giveaways and games. including a Burger Piñata.
