1 Coppa Club Tower Bridge
This Instagram favourite is a tough one to wrestle from the top spot. Many have tried, but Coppa Club Tower Bridge’s riverside location, with idyllic views of London’s most famous bridge and the sparkling glass towers of the South Bank, give these igloos a romantic edge. This year, the igloos have undergone their winter transformation with Piper Heidsieck Champagne and offers a special champagne menu. Seating six guests in comfort – perfect for a Covid-secure dining experience within your social bubble – igloo diners can expect an exclusive menu featuring sashimi-grade tuna tartare, whole lemon sole cooked on the bone, and a 1kg porterhouse steak for two. Igloos are bookable in two-hour slots from Monday to Sunday, with bookings available from 2 December 2020 until 31 January 2021.

2 Aviary, the City
Aviary’s rooftop igloos are back as the Tanqueray No. Ten igloos. Located 10 floors above the city, the igloos are the perfect spot to enjoy bespoke cocktails against a backdrop of the city skyline. Try the likes of Tanqueray’s Grapefruit Collins in Instgrammable igloos adorned with fabulous foliage, sofas, chaise lounges, heaters and twinkling lights. Dining packages are available, featuring British dishes with a modern twist like Scottish salmon tartare and coal oven steak. Each igloo can accommodate up to six guests, making the private pods the perfect solution for safe outdoor socialising in style. Packages start from £50pp for drinks and snacks. The igloos will also be available for hire on Christmas Day.

4 The Alpine Club at Winterland Fulham
Fulham Beach Club transforms into the Winterland Alpine Club every year as temperatures drop. Choose from a series of cosy spots to hang out with friends, from igloos for six people located in the ‘winter forest’ from £60 per igloo, to forest cabins, also for six, and ski lift bubbles for four, tables for two and fur-covered sofas for six. There’s a cocktail bar, gin bar and restaurant serving up hot mulled wine and fondue to keep things Alpine-esque, and a packed events programme includes a Day of the Dead party, bottomless brunches, bingo and an aprés ski supper club. General entry from £5. Relaunching from 3 December.

5 The Sipping Room, West India Quay
The Sipping Room has two large D&M bubbles (some like to call them ‘b’igloos’) that can hold up to 30 people standing and 16 seated. Such numbers might not be possible in these strange Covid times, but the venue will adapt to the latest government guidance so if you’re unsure, just give them a call. The igloos, reopening on 3 December, will be kitted out with electric heaters, sheepskin throws and Drake & Morgan’s signature hot water bottles. Located on the terrace by West India Quay, this is an ideal spot for those who have dragged themselves back to the office in Canary Wharf.

6 Skylight at Tobacco Dock, Wapping
Skylight Rooftop boosts the number of winter igloos available very year, and this year the venue has gone so far as to expand onto the quayside next to its famed rooftop. To cater to social distancing guidelines, the venue is transforming into Skylight Christmas at Tobacco Dock, offering a number of indoor and outdoor drinking and dining experiences including an igloo village and Après Ski Lodge bar. Igloos will also be located on the Skylight Rooftop, warmed with mini-heaters, faux-fur rugs and thick blankets, deked out Alpine-style and offering full table service and a dedicated food and drink offering. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, the ice rink will not be in operation this year. Opening on 3 December.
