JAZ & JUL’S NEW VEGAN-FRIENDLY CHOCOLATE BRUNCH

Dynamic streetfood duo Jasmine Kershaw and Juliet Sampson have launched a new chocolate-themed brunch menu at Jaz & Jul’s Chocolate House, a permanent cocoa café and shop in Chapel Market, near Angel tube station

Known for their organic, vegan-friendly proper hot chocolates (available in flavours like Chilli con Choccy, Gingerbread, Man! and Cinnamon Rose), the cocoa-mad duo have upped their chocolate game with this delicious new brunch offering.

Choose from irresistible indulgences like cinnamon and cocoa-dusted French toast made in a coconut, almond and banana batter, and topped with berry compote and maple syrup. There are a vast array of vegan options, too, so that everyone can enjoy dessert for breakfast.

Tuck into sweet fluffy chocolate-stout waffles with toppings including delightful peach and nectarine slices, Kentish cobnut ice-cream (handmade by fellow Broadway Market trader Nonna’s) and banana, chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts.

Jasmine and Juliet are keen to show how cocoa also naturally compliments many savoury flavours, so brunchers who are sweet enough already can opt for cornbread waffles paired with Mexican-inspired black bean chilli in mole sauce and avocado or roast cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta and cocoa pesto drizzle.

During the week, Chocolate House guests can take their pick from cocoa-inspired light breakfast offerings including granola-topped smoothie bowls combining cocoa, avocado, banana, date and almond, or enjoy toast smothered with the likes of ‘Jaffa cake’ orange marmalade and chocolate chunks, Seggiano chocolate-hazelnut spread, or cocoa nib and olive tapenade.

A lineup of special boozy brunch cocktails including Mimosas and Spiked Iced Tea will be available alongside the all-day breakfast menu at weekends. During the week, add a shot of organic liqueur and/or artisan marshmallows and whipped coconut cream to any of Jaz & Jul’s famous handmade single-origin drinking chocolates for an extra treat.

Jaz & Jul’s weekend brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays between 10am and 3pm at Jaz & Jul’s Chocolate House, 1 Chapel Market N1 9EZ; 020 3583 4375; jazandjuls.co.uk
