Richmond and Barnes are getting foodier by the minute with the capital’s top restaurants, bars and food shops migrating to this patch of London. Find out about the latest openings in your local area

1 Coffee and cocktails in Surbiton
Marylebone based cocktail specialists, Purl, have brought their know-how to our part of town with the opening of Rubi, their new shabby-chic coffee shop by day and cocktail bar by night. There’s even a ‘secret’ Purl bar in the basement. By day, top notch Italian coffees, breakfasts, baked goods, light lunches and milkshakes are all on the menu, while in the evenings it dons a speakeasy style with funky house and jazz tunes, cocktails with a twist and American craft beers on offer. Their ever popular cocktail making masterclasses run on the last Friday of every month and booking is essential.

The irresistible menu will include seasonally changing dishes as well as classics such as onglet steak and frites, beef cheek, ‘bourguignon’ and confit Barbary duck leg.
