Galvin at The Athenaeum is celebrating the legendary French tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau Day with a special breakfast menu on Thursday 17 November 2016
Beaujolais Nouveau Day is marked in France on the third Thursday in November with fireworks, music and festivals. The wine is released at 12.01am, just weeks after the wine’s grapes have been harvested.
The indulgent Beaujolais Breakfast celebrates the first wine of the season with a one-off pairing menu created by Chris and Jeff Galvin to bring out the best of the young red wine. The bespoke menu includes a choice of beef and potato hash with fried duck egg, omelette Arnold Bennet and fried cepes on toast with a Lancashire Bomb (creamy cheese presented in traditional black wax).
A glass of Beaujolais Nouveau – available on tap for the first time thanks to a revolutionary Loeb tap system, is £7.50 for 175ml, £24.50 for 500ml or £31.50 for a bottle.
Breakfast is served from 7am-11am.
The à la carte menu is priced £11.50-£14.50.
