Peckham & Beckenham
This award-winning butchers offers free-range meat and poultry and also happens to serve some of London’s best sausages. Flock & Herd serves both the retail and wholesale markets, and after earning themselves a great rep in Peckham recently opened a second branch in Beckhenham.

2 Jones the Butcher
Jones supplies many of London’s top restaurants, making it an excellent place to pick up your Sunday roast joint. Founder Michael Jones started his career as a cashier on Smithfield Market in his early 20s, before buying a van and starting to deliver fresh meat to restaurants, cafes and butchers on his way home. The Herne Hill base was founded in 1962, and has been supplying top quality meat, poultry and game from around the world since, although British produce is championed as much as possible.

3 William Rose
William Rose is a staple on Lordship Lane, offering premium quality organic and free range meat, poultry and game to both retail customers and catering companies. Only produce from suppliers with the highest standards of welfare makes it onto the counters here. When in season, they stock Longhorn and Red Poll Cattle Beef aged on the bone, and have recently expanded their handmade sausage range.

4 GG Sparkes
GG Sparkes is a family run business established in 1952, supplying traditionally farmed organic, free-range meats and rare-breeds. Guy Sparkes, The Master Butcher, has tonnes of experience within his field and sources only top produce from trusted UK farmers like Sue Fildes, who supplies her own award-winning pure rare-breed Berkshire pigs.
Delivery? No, GG Sparkes is open for collection as usual but is not currently offering a delivery service
Drings on the super charming Royal Hill in Greenwich is a traditional butchers selling high quality meat, poultry and game. Their traditionally bred Longhorn, Galloway and Red Poll beef is all dry-aged on the premises, free-range pork is sourced from Blythburgh in Suffolk, and lamb come from the West Country. Drings also hand-makes award-winning sausages, burgers, faggots and meatballs every week to their own recipes.

6 Billings Fishmongers & Butchers

This butchers shop, which started life with three Tamworth pigs more than 20 years ago and, for a time, had its own 3,000 acre farm in Yorkshire, supports a small network of like-minded family farms around the country. So The Ginger Pig knows a thing or two about farming, and how to source the perfect poultry, pork and everything in between. Once everything returns to normal, pop on over for lunch where they serve hot roast meat sandwiches and sausage rolls to take away.

They also stock a fabulous range of wines, local beers and spirits, as well as groceries, artisan products and freshly baked bread from Blackbird Bakery.
