1 Jimmy’s BBQ Club Hampers
Jimmy Garcia, ‘baron of BBQs’, usually fires up the Big Green Eggs on the South Bank come summer, but since lockdown butted into our lives, Jimmy and his squad have been mailing out BBQ boxes. 2 The Ninth Barbecue Box
Chef Jun Tanaka of Michelin-starred The Ninth in Fitzrovia is offering a top-notch BBQ box for delivery. The grill-at-home offering from the Michelin-starred restaurant comfortably feeds four, and is available for delivery nationwide all summer. The Ninth Barbecue Box contains four lamb cutlets marinated in Kalamata olives and honey with an apricot and anchovy vinaigrette, two veal chops marinated in Greek yoghurt, rosemary and thyme with a salsa verde, two poussin marinated in preserved lemon and oregano, roasted red peppers with crispy shallots and breadcrumbs, marinated courgettes and hispi cabbage. The box, priced £100 including delivery, also contains its a QR code linking to a special tutorial video, where Jun shows you how best to combine the delicious ingredients inside. Order up until 1pm on Wednesdays for delivery on Fridays.
3 Berber & Q BBQ Boxes
Josh Katz and Mattia Bianchi, founders of Berber & Q Grill House and Berber & Q Shawarma Bar, have launched a selection of five DIY BBQ boxes packed with classic Berber & Q dishes. Each starts with a selection of ready to eat mezze, sharing mains and vegetarian side dishes. Choose from the Smoked Lamb Box, designed to feed 6-8 people; the Family BBQ, which serves four with Middle Eastern meat dishes, merguez sausages and harissa; The Vegetarian box for two with wood roasted Imam Bayildi and a stuffed aubergine dish with cauliflower shawarma; and a limited-edition Berber & Q x Bacardi Box for two with smoked chicken thighs and a bottle of Bacardi spiced rum to enjoy with Canada Dry Ginger ale and coca cola. Provenance Village Butcher offers a couple of BBQ box options with same-day home delivery. Provenance, which is passionate about animal welfare, offers a carefully curated premium range of ex-dairy dry-aged beef, lamb from the salt marshes of Essex and more exclusive cuts. The Provenance BBQ Box (£100) features a T-Bone steak, two ribeye steaks, two Iberico pork chops, a boneless whole chicken, two lamb skewers, four burgers 10 old English sausages and BBQ sauce. For something smaller, opt for the Provenance Weekend Box (£55), with two sirloin steaks, two flat-iron chickens, four cutlets, five sausages, two beef skewers and two lamb skewers. 5 Suzanne James’ Beer & BBQ Box
Suzanne James, the award-winning caterer based in East Dulwich, put together a special BBQ box for Father’s Day, and it seems to have stuck! Available to pre-order for any Saturday until the end of August, the Beer & BBQ Box has everything you need for the perfect BBQ. For £100, you’ll get four 150g homemade burgers with buns, four Cumberland sausages with buns, four chipotle chilli and lime marinaded chicken skewers, four lemon and garlic marinaded prawn skewers, coleslaw, baby potato salad with red wine and parsley vinaigrette, plum tomato and feta salad, four Mars Bar brownie portions, a celebration cake with strawberries and cream, and four Meantime London lagers. 6 HG Walter BBQ Boxes
Hammersmith-based HG Walter, London’s legendary butchers, offers two BBQ box options – the Basic Box and the Luxury Box. The Basic BBQ Box (£65) feeds four people, featuring a 440g bavette steak, four pork chops, four classic burgers, four chicken thighs, two lamb chump steaks, six country-style sausages, an HG Walter House BBQ Rub, a Stokes Sweet & Sticky BBQ Sauce and 75g Cornish Sea Salt. The Luxury BBQ Box (£110) also feeds four, but has a few extra treats. Inside you’ll find a 950g T-Bone Steak, four Iberico pork chops, two spatchcocked poussin, four chicken thighs, four classic burgers, six country-style sausages, an HG Walter House BBQ Rub, a Stokes Sweet & Sticky BBQ Sauce and 75g Cornish Sea Salt. They offer a number of dairy, veg, meat and picnic boxes, too, as well as a Patty&Bun burger kit. Delivery anywhere within the M25.
7 Barbecue Beer Brothers’ BBQ Boxes
South east London-based Barbecue Beer Brothers pops up at breweries and events around the country. They’re also available for private parties and events if you don’t fancy running the BBQ yourself. Throughout lockdown, the brothers have been mailing out BBQ boxes to make staying home that little less painful. Ideal for four to share, the £50 boxes include four brioche buns, four Angus beef steak burger patties, four rashers of smoked back bacon, four slices of spicy Monterey Jack cheese, 12 chicken wings, Barbecue Beer Brothers’ secret blend dry rub and spicy BBQ sauce, and a selection of hand picked craft beers. 9 Lake District Farmers Lakeland BBQ Pack
Lake District Farmers offers a variety of restaurant quality meat hampers, including a Lakeland BBQ Pack, for 48-hour delivery throughout the UK. Long-standing suppliers to Michelin-starred chefs including Clare Smyth, Michel Roux Jr, Angela Harnett, Jason Atherton and Marcus Wareing, during lockdown Lake District Farmers have set up a hamper distribution system to ensure they can safeguard hill farming practices for family-run farms in the Lake District. 10 field&flower BBQ Box
Award-winning online butcher field&flower has launched a new range of meat and fish and BBQ boxes, delivered fresh to your door. The range varies from traditional BBQ classics such as their award-winning sausages, free-range burgers and grass-fed steaks, to cuts of premium marinated meats like harissa lamb leg steaks and teriyaki pork belly slices, and sustainable fish including salmon fillets. The cuts are made for sharing, and boxes start from £32.40 (accounts are subscription based). Nationwide weekday delivery is £2.95, and £3.95 for weekend delivery.
