Jimmy’s Lodge on the River is a cosy, convivial must for winter. Not only does it have igloos – kitten out to a Northern Lights theme in partnership with Martin Miller’s Gin, created with pure Icelandic water – it also has an Alpine-themed upstairs dining room, The Refuge. 2 The Alpine Club at Winterland Fulham
Fulham Beach Club has had a hygge ski chalet makeover for winter with cosy igloos, log cabins and hunting lodges. The Alpine Club, as its now known, will offer fun winter games (shuffle board, beer pong, table tennis and arcade games), warming street food, drinks from the Moose Bar and DJs and live bands every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. There will also be a bubbling Nordic Woodland hot tub with a magical view of the Thames and waiter service. Cosy up with friends and enjoy a mulled wine, hot gin or boozy hot chocolate, alongside cheesy fondue, gourmet burgers, spicy chicken wings, macaroni cheese and sourdough woodfired pizzas. 3 The Montague On The Gardens Ski Lodge, Bloomsbury
The Montague On The Gardens has brought back its ski lodge-inspired pop-up for the winter. The Wood Deck has been transformed into a magical ski lodge with pine trees, falling snow, reindeer, snowmen, ski racks and strings of fairy lights and lanterns. The centrepiece is a bar serving Schnapps and flavoured vodkas, mulled wine, hot spiced cider and mugs of steaming hot chocolate cocktails. Big woolly rugs will keep things cosy, or you can head to the Log Cabin, which boasts a decorative fire, Christmas tree and cosy armchairs with blankets. Open throughout November until 4 January 2020. For £38pp (minimum spend) groups of up to 16 can get a Ski Lodge Pass, offering an Alpine platter of mini bratwurst, turkey schnitzel and deep-fried Camembert, three drinks from the Alpine Bar and access to The Ski Lodge for 90 minutes (only available on weekends). 4 York & Albany’s Gingerbread Cabin, Camden
York & Albany (of Gordon Ramsay fame) has put together a Gingerbread Cabin that would have Hansel & Gretel chomping at the bit. Inspired by one of the greatest fairy tales of all time, the Gingerbread Cabin, nestled in the courtyard, is decked out with frosting, candy canes, gingerbread themed décor and cosy cushions. Enjoy a warming Chambord mulled wine as you arrive, before tucking into a canapé-inspired menu of sweet and savoury gingerbread bites and choosing from a list of winter cocktails, including a Grey Goose Gingerbread Espresso Martini and a Bombay Sapphire Slim Santa (purchased separately). 5 Lodge d’Argent at Coq d’Argent, the City
Escape the city and embrace the spirit of apres-ski at Coq d’Argent’s après-ski inspired rooftop pop-up. The destination terrace has launched its Lodge d’Argent chalets in partnership with Hennessy, bringing a sense of chic Courchevel to a London rooftop. Book your own private chalet for up to eight friends. There is a minimum spend of £250 for each chalet, which you can use as you wish on food and beverage. Choose from a selection of moreish cocktails, created in partnership with Hennessy, including the Snowstorm – a mix of Hennessy Very Special Cognac, Amaro Angostura liquer, lemon juice and strawberry puree – as well as Alpine-inspired small plates, sharing platters, sweat treats and Raclette cheese. 6 The Enchanted Woods Winter Terrace at Madison, St Paul’s
Madison’s famous rooftop terrace, complete with views of St Pauls’ Cathedral, has transformed into an Enchanted Woods Winter Terrace. Wild woodland foliage is lit by the warm glow of fairy lights, while illuminated trees light the way to your dinner table or private Little Lodge. Madison has partnered with Belvedere Vodka to offer signature cocktails and hot serves such as the Snowdrop (Mancino Bianco Ambrato, Belvedere Vodka, Elderflower and Moët & Chandon) and Drop It Like It’s Hot (Hennessy Very Special, Camomile Liquor Quaglia, Italicus, Lemon and Chamomile Tea). Warming bar snacks, such as arancini and sautéed mini chorizo, are also available. Book a Little Lodge, decked out with blankets, cushions and hot water bottles, and you can take in iconic views of the city while sipping on Moët & Chandon (packages available for groups from 2-20).

7 Radio Rooftop Bar, the Strand
This season Radio Rooftop’s terraces have been transformed into Alpine-style winter lodges in partnership with Grey Goose Vodka. Located on the 10th floor of ME London with striking views across London, the Alpine lodges are decked out with faux-fur throws, cosy blankets and flickering lanterns, where you can dine on winter dishes like an Alpine Charcuterie Board and bespoke Grey Goose cocktails. Try the likes of an Apres-Ski Martini with fig and rosemary vermouth, garnished with a cheeky chuck of Manchego cheese; a fragrant Alpine Slope with Sweetgrass infused Grey Goose vodka, Jasmine Verte, honey and chamomile; or a Winter Warmer hot cocktail to share, with Grey Goose Vodka, pear cider, spices, mead and Martini Fiero. The north-facing terrace houses two lodges, which can each accommodate up to six guests, and the south-facing terrace’s larger lodge fits up to eight guests (minimum spend of £50pp for two hours). 8 Fever-Tree Winter Lodge at The Winter Forest, Broadgate
Snow-covered pine trees and twinkling lights will once again transform Broadgate’s Exchange Square into a Nordic-inspired wonderland. Located adjacent to Liverpool Street Station, The Winter Forest will offer live music from various acts, including emerging talent, well-known busking groups and lunchtime Christmas carols. Head for the Fever-Tree Winter Lodge on the upper level of Broadgate Circle, where soft, comfy seating, wreaths and festive foliage exuding Fever-Tree spices offer a warm welcome. The bar serves a selection of perfect Fever-Tree pairings with a number of guest gins, and there will also be a series of spirits masterclasses. The Winter Forest will also offer festive bouquet workshops with luxury florists Grace and Thorn, as well as classic Christmas movies at the newly launched Everyman Cinema and visits from Santa on 23 November and 10 & 19 December. 9 The Fentimans Pink Gingerbread House at Skylight, Wapping

Fentimans, the botanically brewed drinks makers, is celebrating the launch of a new soft drink with a wholly instagrammable life-size Pink Gingerbread House. The magical fairy-tale environment, situated on the 9th floor of Wapping’s popular rooftop destination, Skylight, will be serving up festive ginger cocktails and sweet treats – the perfect retreat following a turn on the venue’s ice rink. Designed to look like a real gingerbread house decorated with icing, candy canes and edible sweet-filled walls, the gingerbread house will fit groups of eight and will be available to book in three-hour slots throughout the festive season, while all visitors to Skylight will be able to choose from a menu of Fentimans festive ginger drinks. The recently launched Pink Ginger soft drink is a contemporary twist on the much-loved traditional Ginger Beer, developed to offer a lighter, more aromatic ginger-style drink.

10 Off Piste, Canary Wharf
Canary Wharf has ditched its ice rink this year and instead launched Off Piste, an après-ski themed winter wonderland. Hosted in Canada Square Park, the new lodge-style bar – complete with heated outdoor terrace – features five individually designed cabins cosied up with luxury decor. The lodges have room for parties of two, four or six, as well as larger arrangements for bigger groups of 16-20. Food comes from the legendary Radio Alice, known for its delish sourdough pizzas, while Pravha will be serving crisp pilsners and there’s also a menu of cocktails including a bespoke winter warmer called The Snow Stopper. Those keeping it apres-ski real on the terrace can enjoy mesmerising footage of the Northern Lights and Rocky Mountains shown on an impressive interactive screen, ski memorabilia, shimmering festive lights and free 80s themed music nights and free DJ events every Thursday and Friday evening. 11 The Elyx Chalet at Rosewood London, Holborn
Rosewood London has partnered with luxury vodka brand Absolut Elyx to launch The Elyx Chalet. The hotel’s cool courtyard has been transformed into the snowy and enchanted winter wonderland of Southern Sweden with fir trees, fairy lights, snow globe effect porthole windows, abundant cushions and throws in velvet and fur, and handmade copper decorations in the style of Absolut Elyx. The copper Elyx bar will be serving an array of Swedish-inspired hot and cold drinks, such as the Glögg, a twist on a mulled wine with red wine, port and spices, Tomte’s Nectar with Absolut Elyx, Apricot Brandy, Blackberry Sherbert and Ginger Ale served in a copper gnome-shaped glass, and The Nutcracker, mixing Spices and Peanut Butter washed with Absolut Elyx. Holborn Dining Room’s Executive Head Chef Calum Franklin has created a menu of winter dishes with a Swedish twist, such as Monkshill farm scotch egg with caper mayonnaise, gin-cured salmon with pickled cucumber and soda bread, and squash, sage and spelt risotto with spenwood cheese. 12 Winter Lodge on The Terrace at St Ermin’s Hotel, Westminster
St. Ermin’s has transformed its terrace into a cosy winter lodge complete with flickering candles and cosy blankets. 13 Le Pont De La Tour’s Le Lodge D’Hiver, Shad Thames
Le Pont De La Tour has unveiled its intimate winter bolt hole, Le Lodge D’Hiver. Previously the popular autumnal truffle hut, the cosy cabin is now adorned with holly, mistletoe, winter foliage and fluffy blankets for the whole of December. With beautiful views of the River Thames, the picturesque winter hut offers an intimate dining space for two, where you can enjoy a five-course Christmas tasting menu alongside a bottle of Moët & Chandon (£200 for two people). The menu will feature dishes such as terrine of duck liver with fruit chutney and toasted brioche, poached monkfish tail with sea herbs and shaved truffle, and roasted veal cutlet for two with fricassée of herb gnocchi, braised baby gem and truffle velouté. 14 Flat Iron Square’s Après Ski Lodge & Alpine Whisky Lodge, London Bridge
The cosy Après Ski Lodge this winter returns to Flat Iron Square this winter, complete with holiday workshops and free weekly festive film screenings. Inside the lodge you can enjoy warming drinks and munch on candied pecans, while outside in the sprawling archways and alleyways, you’ll find some of London’s top street food vendors. The square will also host the Alpine Whisky Lodge with an exclusive menu of warming whisky cocktails from Highland Park, Maker’s Mark and Laphroaig. Serves on offer include the Maker’s Mark S’mores Old Fashioned, served with a toasted marshmallow, the Laphroaig Penicillin, a smoked concoction featuring Laphroaig, lemon juice, honey and fresh ginger syrup, and the Highland Park Hot Apple Cider. 15 Après 23 at Hilton London Metropole, Paddington
Après 23 is an enchanting pop-up alpine lodge events space at Vista @ 23 in the Hilton London Metropole. Open for private bookings for 100 guests, the lodge is an ideal spot for a Christmas party, offering the likes of an alcoholic chocolate fondue, cheese fondue, raclette, winter warming cocktails and Jägerbomb station (smaller groups can also opt to share the space with other parties on certain dates). The venue is decked out with rustic wooden décor, white polished walls, snowflakes, antlers, Christmas trees, hanging lights, throws and an ‘instagramable’ vintage-style ski lift, as well as a ski themed artwork, Après 23 offers two yuletide party packages. There are two party packages to choose from: a menu of sharing and mini plates and bottomless beverages for £90 per person, or an upgraded dining menu with an alcoholic chocolate fondue and a premium drinks package including the Jägerbomb station for £100 per person. Both last for 120 minutes. You’ll enter through an exclusive lift and be whizzed up to the 23rd floor – the summit of Metropole Mountain – where you can enjoy panoramic views over London, featuring including Hyde Park, The Shard, The London Eye, Westminster Cathedral and Big Ben.
