The accolade comes as the pub is due to mark its fifth birthday on July 20.

The award comes as the central London pub approaches its fifth birthday, on 20 July 2022.

Part of the ever glorious Langham hotel, The Wigmore opened in 2017, in a former banking hall spruced up by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio.

The kitchen plates up British pub classics, prepared to a level fitting for the surround and made with seasonal produce.

Wigmore favourites include the footlong three cheese and mustard toasties as well as its masala spiced scotch eggs with dahl relish.

Drinks includes cask ales and craft beers, including The Wigmore’s very own house Saison brewed in partnership with Yonder Brewing.

There's a concise list of inventive cocktails which tip their cap to Brittish pub traditions, including a selection of 'hoptails' and Cups of Punch.

The pub also plays a part in The Langham’s significant drive towards becoming a sustainable business, with efforts in reducing paper usage, eliminating single use plastic and minimising food waste.

The Wigmore has also worked closely with various charity partners over the years, most recently launching a guest chef toastie programme, with £1 from every toastie sold donated to the mental health charity, CALM.

The Cateys, run by hospitality industry magazine The Caterer, was celebrates 'the best and the brightest businesses and individuals in hospitality'.

A good steer for food and drink talent, nominees are nominated and selected by fellow hospitality professionals.

Other London winners include Mayfair Indian restaurant Bibi, which won Menu of the Year, Fallow in St James's market won Best Newcomer and Jan Konetzki at Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square walked away with the Wine and Spirit Ambassador Award.
