The Lido Cafe at Brockwell Park has transformed into a cosy, winter bistro for the winter, swapping iced drinks for warming cocktails and BBQs for indulgent Christmas treats.
Expect to find Chilli Hot Chocolate, Venison Burgers and ‘Bad Santa’ mince pies – the latter warmed and served with a ball of homemade salted caramel ice cream and a Mince Pie White Russian (the vodka is infused with spices and candied fruit).
Escape the frosty streets and enter an inviting sanctuary of spiced candles, cosy blankets and comfort food. Wintery ferns, a chalk drawn pine forest and soft lighting will surround the tables and chairs creating an intimate and relaxing atmosphere.
The award winning Lido Cafe is a completely unique space, sitting alongside the lido itself (though you might wish to abstain from a dip until warmer climes return) on the outskirts of the famous Brockwell Park. The specialty Christmas menu offers a delicious three course meal with Prosecco, tea or coffee and additional Christmas treats, all available in December! Starters include Severn and Wye smoked salmon with Dorset crab, avocado puree and fennel; and the quirky and indulgent Confit Duck Scotch Egg. Tempting mains include a Succulent Pan fried bream fillet with seared scallop, aromatic lentils, caper vermouth and cream sauce; and Roast pork belly with truffle mash and all the trimmings!
Last but certainly not least will see the likes of a heavenly Pear tart tatin with crème fraiche, Chestnut and dark chocolate torte, Christmas pudding ice cream with a brandy tuille or an artisanal English cheeseboard with fig chutney and biscuits.
Add a lovingly chosen selection of wines, cocktails and local craft beers, and a warm welcome whatever the weather from the friendly front-of-house team, and you can see what makes The Lido Cafe south London’s very own poolside paradise all year round.
The Lido Cafe will be open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday as of January.
