Pudding experts Gü and award-winning restaurant Plum & Spilt Milk have created a sumptuous three-course chocolate-themed menu for National Chocolate Week, which takes place from 13-19 October

How could you not like the sound of this – a dinner where you can enjoy chocolate as part of every course? When we heard that the King of melt-in-the-middle gourmet puds, Gü desserts, had teamed up with Mark Sargeant’s acclaimed restaurant at the Great Northern Hotel, King’s Cross for this limited edition menu, we were very excited to say the least.

The especially crafted menu features four types of chocolate as core ingredients in both savoury and sweet dishes, with a fantastic twist on classic dishes with a luxurious Gü twist. Having been given a sneak preview last week, we can tell you first-hand that every course is absolutely delicious and unlike what you would imagine. So what can you expect?

Starter: Pan fried scallops with white chocolate and cauliflower puree and a sherry vinegar caramel

The Resident: The Chocolate & Tonka Bean Melting MiddleThe Chocolate & Tonka Bean Melting Middle

Main: Loin of venison with a cocoa nib roast squash and a bitter chocolate and red wine sauce

Dessert: Gü Head Chef Fred Ponnavoy’s ultimate Chocolate & Tonka Bean Melting Middle with caramelised white chocolate ice cream and mandarin confit

And for those of you who love Gü as much as we do, you’ll be pleased to hear that the company will be launching two new flavours later this autumn: Gü Salted Caramel Melting Middles and Gü White Chocolate Melting Middles, £3.50 for a pack of two.
