The Golden Dishes Awards have been launched by dish-based food review app Eaten, which boasts over 50,000 reviews of specific dishes, rather than restaurants as a whole

The app encourages the public to find, share and discover their best tastes all over the world and enables users to search where to eat whatever food they’re craving.

The awards are given to the restaurants serving specific dishes that have garnered the highest taste ratings by Londoners using the app, and MEATLiquor’s Burger, Club Mexicana’s Tofu and Chick n Sours’ fried chicken are among the star dishes

And the Golden Dish Award winners are:

Best Burger: MEATLiquor’s Dead Hippie Burger Best Fried Chicken: Chick n Sours Best Tofu-based dish: Club Mexicana’s To-Fish Taco Best Pie and Mash: Mother Mash’s Aberdeen Angus Steak Pie and Mash Best Roast Dinner: Blacklock’s All-In Roast Best Pad Thai: Patara’s Pad Thai with Chicken Best Sushi: Hot Stone Best Shawarma: Berber and Q’s Lamb Shawarma Best Ramen: Kanada-Ya’s Tonkotsu X Ramen Best Chocolate Cake: Cutter and Squidge’s Chocolate Hazelnut cake

Award winners are gifted with stickers to hang pride of place in their windows, for the public to see they currently hold one of London’s Best Dishes, enabling foodies to see that’s the place to get their favourite meal.

The Eaten Golden Dishes Awards are released on the back of research showing Londoners who eat out are far more interested in taste than any other factor, including Instagrammability, as 96% say they would be prepared to shun good looks on a dish in favour of great flavours.

Anyone can become an expert on the app by simply rating the same type of food five times, ensuring the food is rated by people who really love that specific kind of dish.

‘As massive foodies ourselves, we are super excited about all of the amazing dishes our users have discovered,’ said Eaten co-founder and CEO Timothy Lui. ‘The Eaten app is a real community of people who seriously love their food – so we know their choices will be top notch.’

‘Eaten is completely different from any other review app,’ added fellow co-founder and COO Jeeho Park, ‘because it is simply all about the food. So, atmosphere, location, music, or any other factors are not important – users simply rate how delicious the dish was against others they’ve tried.

‘This means Eaten could have a number of different reviews for any given restaurant – all for different dishes. The winners of the Eaten Awards are being celebrated for one amazing dish, rather than for the whole menu. I can’t wait to try them all.’
