Here’s your chance to discover what all the hype about Wagyu beef is about for free. But be quick, because this offer is on a first come, first served basis

To celebrate the opening of its new Waterloo location, steak restaurant Flat Iron is giving away Wagyu steak to lucky, hungry customers.

For one evening only from 6pm on Wednesday, April 27 Flat Iron will be handing out the steaks on a first come first serve basis until the steaks run out.

With perhaps the best job title around, Flat Iron’s Head of Beef Fred Smith has sourced Japanese Black Wagyu direct from Kyoto and will showcase two types of the meat -A5 Kyoto Miyabi and A4 Juku.

Both the Miyabi and the Juku are from Japanese Black cattle and the Miyabi boasts a marbling score of 11 (a marbling score is an indicator of flavour richness, so an 11 means the steak is really, really yum).

The Juku is from breeding cows who have been put back out to pasture to create heavily marbled beef with a rich umami flavour, and this will be the first time either of these steaks have been served in Britain.

Flat Iron will give away the steaks from it’s new Waterloo site on Wednesday, April 27 from 6pm on a first come, first serve basis.
