The Great Taste food festival heads for intu Bromley shopping centre from 13-14 September with celebrity chefs the Fabulous Baker Brothers and Rachel Khoo

It’s the first time the festival has taken place at intu Bromley, and the event beings cooking demos, kids workshops, a spectacular giveaway of thousands of intu cookery books and plenty of treats and samples from the centre’s retailers.

Rachel Khoo appears at the festival on Saturday. Famed for her television series, The Little Paris Kitchen, Rachel also writes a column for The Evening Standard’s ES Magazine. Born and raised in south east London, she now works on culinary projects from Paris to Sydney and Buenos Aires, and her fourth book, Little French Kitchen, will be released in the autumn. Rachel will be cooking up a feast for intu Bromley customers including mini desserts, Basque style tapas and Smörgåstårta.

On Sunday, Tom and Henry Herbert, cheeky chappies behind the Channel 4 hit The Fabulous Baker Brothers, will be demonstrating some of their favourite family recipes. Tom and Henry have been busy putting their culinary skills to good use across the country. Henry has a passion for English heritage and reviving old recipes is part of his mission to restore Britain’s food culture, while baker Tom lives and breathes bread-making and has judged at baking events across the world.

Kids can join in fun workshops on the Sunday making fruit sponge sundaes, while on Friday 12 September intu Bromley’s retailers, including Carluccio’s, Hotel Chocolat and Esquires Coffee House, will be offering sumptuous foodie goodies to sample. The centre will also be giving out thousands of intu cook books for free throughout the festival, full of delicious local recipes.

Demonstrations will take place at 12noon, 1.30pm and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.
