Edible Cinema has collaborated with The Science Museum for its latest food and film installment

When it comes to sensory adventures on screen, what better film is there than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Fans of the movie will be pleased to hear the Edible Cinema has chosen Tim Burton’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s famous story as the theme for its next event this September.

Edible Cinema will present a special screening of the film at The Science Museum’s 400-seat Imax cinema. Experimental chefs Blanch & Shock are also on board to provide a tray of numbered ‘mystery boxes’ for each guest. These will contain a bite-sized tasting menu corresponding to scenes in the film. At specific moments during the screening, a signal will indicate what should be opened when.

Although the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory menu will remain top secret until the event, Edible Cinema founder Polly Betton has revealed guests can ‘expect a sweet/savoury menu delivering some visceral thrills alongside the action on screen, including gum that tastes like a three course dinner and Augustus flavoured chocolate covered Goop.’

Delicious.

The screening will take place on 30 September as part of The Science Museum Lates. Tickets are £37.00 per ticket per person and are available from ediblecinema.co.uk and sciencemuseum.org.uk
