2 Bread Street Kitchen, St Paul’s
Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen in St Paul’s is serving a choice of three festive menus between 19 November and 26 December, starting from £55pp and rising to £75pp – all including Christmas crackers. The festive menus include main dishes like mushroom, truffle and ricotta tortelloni, red wine braised beef feather blade with mash and creamed wild mushrooms, traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings, and fillet of beef Wellington, and you can add champagne, canapes, mince pies and even a Gordon Ramsay book for additional fees. There are also standing events menus with canapes from £25pp or bowl foods from £40pp, and Bread Street Kitchen will be open on Christmas Day, offering a set menu of champagne, canapes, three courses and seasonal British cheeses for £140pp (kids up to 12 years old, £35pp). Royal Garden Hotel is a five-star hotel in Kensington with 10 private event suites for up to 430 guests, as well as two restaurants and three bars, all offering award-winning cuisine and five-star service. A Christmas party dining package at Park Terrace restaurant, available from 1-24 December, can cater for up to 20 guests, starting from £50pp for lunch or £60pp for dinner. You’ll get a glass of champagne on arrival, a three-course festive menu, half a bottle of wine per person, tea or coffee, Christmas crackers and Christmas novelty boxes. 5 The English Grill at The Rubens at The Palace, Westminster
The English Grill at The Rubens at The Palace is open on Christmas Day serving up a festive feast for either lunch or dinner. Sittings take place between 1pm and 7pm, with bookings available in half an hour intervals. The five course menu – six, if you count the mince pies and coffee – features a bark pumpkin soup with oxtail arancini and roasted chestnut pesto as pre-starter, followed by starters such as Scottish beef carpaccio or Cornish crab cakes, followed by an intermediate course of champagne sorbet. For the main course, you can choose from a traditional Black Leg turkey with all the trimmings, herb crusted loin of English lamb with dauphinoise potato, shallot and ale purée, butternut squash and rosemary lamb jus, and wild mushroom tagliatelle with Cornish gouda, sage, pine nuts and winter truffles. Dessert options include traditional Christmas pudding, flambéed at your table, with brandy custard, baked pear and apple strudel with rum and raisin ice cream or a selection of British cheese. 6 The Montague on the Gardens, Bloomsbury
On Christmas Day, you can enjoy a traditional festive lunch with all your family for £130pp. Enjoy a glass of mulled wine or champagne on arrival, followed by a sumptuous five-course Christmas banquet at The Blue Door Bistro. 7 The Curry Room at The Rubens at The Palace, Westminster
Opt for a slightly different approach to Christmas dinner at the beautifully decorated Curry Room at The Rubens at The Palace. The restaurant celebrates authentic flavours made with the finest ingredients and exclusively imported spices from India, and its open on Christmas Day. The three-course menu, served from 3pm till 9.30pm, starts with a choice of three starters – a lazeez aloo chaat (crispy potato salad), kebab khazana (trio of chicken tikka, lamb seekh and masala prawns) or kastoori paneer (fenugreek flavoured paneer tikka) – followed by a cleansing champagne sorbet. For the mains, you can choose from the likes of Delhi-wala chicken, lamb kofta curry, Samundar Ka Raja (lobster simmered with South Indian spices), and pindi chole (chickpea masala). 8 Cannizaro House by Hotel du Vin, Wimbledon
Hotel du Vin has created a Festive Menu full of classic favourites such as starters of salmon gravadlax or goat’s cheer, pear and pecan salad, and mains of succulent roasted free-range turkey ballotine, herb crusted cod, or daube of beef Provençale. Desserts include Christmas pudding dripping with brandy sauce, chocolate and clementine yule log with coconut ice cream, or raspberry and elderflower trifle. You’ll also get a selection of artisan cheese, crackers, mince pies and tea or coffee. The three-course menu is available for lunch and dinner from 27 November until 24 December priced from £31.95pp (Sun-Weds) to £39.95pp (Thurs-Sat). Add a celebration drinks package from £20, including a welcome glass of fizz, half a bottle of mineral water and half a bottle of Hotel du Vin Selection wine per person. Private dining rooms are also available. 9 The Chesterfield, Mayfair
The Chesterfield in Mayfair is open on Christmas Day, with a seven-course menu complete with all the trimmings priced at £145pp. You’ll start with canapes of stilton and cranberry, fois gras parfait with gingerbread and apple, and gin and tonic smoked salmon with Exmoor caviar, before a cured butternut squash soup. To start, choose from dressed Cornish crab, smoked salmon, roast Norfolk quail with black pudding or baked goats cheese. Then dive into a choice of main courses, including free range Bronze Black Leg turkey with apricot and pistachio stuffing, pigs in blankets and goose fat thyme roasties; grilled Dover sole, saddle of venison or wild mushroom risotto. Then comes a palate cleanser of elderflower sorbet, before desserts including a homemade Chesterfield Christmas pudding flambéed at your table, chestnut mont blanc and classic lemon tart. The Kimpton Fitzroy London is going large on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. On Christmas Eve, locals and guests alike are invited to join the festivities and enjoy a hot chocolate or mulled wine or two in Palm Court with the London Carol singers. A selection of festive nibbles will also be served (6pm-7.30pm, no reservation required). On Christmas Day, whether you’re staying overnight or visiting just for the day, Neptune restaurant is offering a five-course lunch featuring the likes of roast turkey with all the trimmings, or lighter alternatives such as halibut and devilled brown shrimp butter. Chef Francesco Mazzei’s Battersea restaurant is serving an Italian-style three-course feast overlooking the river Thames from £30pp. Starters include meatballs with ‘nduja, burrata and polenta and charred mackerel with salsa verde, while mains include Welsh lamb ragu and aubergine parmigiana. For dessert, opt for panettone tiramisu, ice cream, tronchetto di natale or magia e bevi. Radici, Chef Francesco Mazzei’s Islington trattoria, is offering three Christmas menu options, starting from £27pp for three courses and rising to £50 for four courses, starting with a Chef’s selection of canapes. Main dish choices range from roast turkey breast to lamb shanks osso buco and polenta, home cured baccala with tomato guazzetto and slow cooked veal with truffle and polenta. Tailor your menu with optional extra sides, cheeses, prosecco and Christmas crackers for an additional charge. Celebrate Christmas at London’s highest hotel and soak up views across the capital while feasting on a traditional four-course feast. The hotel is championing a sparkling, glassy theme this Christmas, inspired by The Shard’s unmistakable architecture, with extravagant decorations in metallic silver, white and millennial pink filling the hotel, alongside warming scents of cinnamon and pine. The four-course Christmas Day lunch menu features roast Norfolk turkey and homemade Christmas pudding with brandy butter. Choose from starters of Ballotine of duck liver with quince, honeycomb and gingerbread or halibut tartare with oyster mayonnaise and caviar, followed by a celeriac and truffle ‘cappuccino’. The Cinnamon group is hosting Christmas Day feasts in various locations. The Cinnamon Club in Westminster is hosting a grand Christmas Day feast in the Old Library, featuring a four-course modern-Indian fine menu with dishes such as Keralan-style lobster flamed with Cognac, slow-braised milk-fed Herdwick lamb shoulder, spice crusted halibut fillet, and lemon and ginger brulée (£125pp including an aperitif, open 12pm-4pm). At Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea, you can enjoy, in the rustic industrial space beneath the towering railway arches, you can enjoy a relaxed Christmas Day menu including clove smoked lamb, aromatic Hyderabadi root vegetable biriyani and kale and quinoa kofta, followed by decadent desserts of hot dark chocolate mousse or Christmas pudding (£50pp, open 12pm-4.30pm). 16 Simpson’s in the Strand
For just shy of two centuries, Simpson’s in the Strand has been entering into the festive spirit with decadent and delicious dishes for the season. A stalwart of the London restaurant scene, the restaurant’s Christmas Day lunch is an experience that has guests coming back year upon year, alongside fresh-faced newcomers. To start, you can enjoy Scottish smoked salmon with Exmoor Baerii caviar, ginger spiced butternut squash soup with fig bread crouton, or mulled wine foie gras roulade with crispy melba toast. For a novel way to spend Christmas Day, step on board Bateaux London to dine on the water in the beautiful Glass Room restaurant. Kaspar’s is offering a special five-course tasting menu on Christmas Day. The menu retains the jubilant nature of the season, only with a little less convention, starting with oysters, followed by starters of cured foie gras with gingerbread flavor cookies or aubergine caviar with puff pastry, fenne and golden beetroot, and then a mushroom cappuccino soup. Prime roast turkey is available, of course, alongside a choice of Portobello mushroom ravioli, and poached turbot with a saffron broth. Mains will be followed by a choice of indulgent desserts such as Christmas pudding or Savoy chocolate orange, before the patissier’s mince pies complete the festive celebration. Sitting deep within The Savoy hotel with gorgeous views over the river Thames, Kaspar’s is a great spot for those wishing to celebrate Christmas Day in style. The five-course set menu starts at £235pp.

The lovely Hare & Billet on Blackheath is offering a Christmas Day menu for £75pp. The five-course menu starts with an amuse-bouche, before starters of wild mushroom, truffle and chestnut soup, kiln-roasted salmon, smoked trout pâté, caper dressing and rye bread, or wood pigeon breast, blackberry & hazelnut dressing and spiced pear. Roast turkey with duck fat roast potatoes and ‘pigs-in-blankets’ of course featurs on the mains, with alternatives of roast monkfish, crushed potatoes, pepperonata and watercress sauce, roast sirloin of beef, duck fat roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and red wine jus, or a ‘Field Roast’ with roast potatoes, cranberry and vegan gravy. Dine 37 storeys up at the glorious Bōkan restaurant, located in the Novotel hotel on Marsh Wall, near Canary Wharf. Bōkan will be serving up a three-course bottomless brunch on Christmas Day, complete with great views over the east London and City skyline. Dishes include salmon tartare with Avrugua caviar on melba toast, crab meat with cannelloni daikon and peppermint jelly, or pâté en croûte with wild boar, foie gras and quince marmalade to start. Mains include slow-cooked beef cheek with miso and caramelised tarte tatin, Josper-grilled wild duck breast with salt-baked rainbow beetroot and port & cranberry sauce, and seared wild bass with confit leek and turmeric emulsion. ‘The Kitchens’ are offering a decadent luncheon feast on Christmas Day. Available for £95pp for five courses, you can pick from Bloomsbury, Leicester Square, Monmouth Street and Mayfair for your festive feast. Start with luxurious options like oven-baked lobster and king prawns with Parmesan crème and chilli herb crust, or marinated crispy duck salad with grapefruit, pine nuts and plum dressing. After a champagne and mint jelly and organic lemon sorbet palate cleanser, you can then choose from the likes of Dover sole flet and aged beef Wellington with charred greens. Desserts include Valrhona chocolate fondant with spiced ginger ice cream and cinnamon crème brûlée, followed by Petits Fours.

22 Florentine, Waterloo
Florentine restaurant on Hercules Road – the very road that William Blake used to live on – is serving a four-course menu on Christmas Day. Choose from a choice of two amuse bouche – King crab tartare with avocado, Jerusalem artichoke with truffle cream sauce – before enjoying a starter of pumpkin and ginger soup with crème fraîche, lobster tagliolini with Datterini tomato emulsion, or smoked duck breast with radicchio di treviso, black truffle, quail’s eggs, parsnips and sweet potatoes. For the main course, there’s a roasted free range Lincolnshire turkey with stuffing and all the trimmings, a mushroom risotto with black truffle and Castelmagno, or braised short rib of beef with parsnip purée, wild mushrooms and jus, or roasted wild sea bass with braised endives, cannellini beans and confit cherry tomato. Berners Tavern is open for lunch and dinner on Christmas Day, offering a four-course menu kicking off with chips and dips (think chopped aubergine, smoked cod’s roe emulsion and whipped goat’s curd with tapioca puffs and smoked garlic flatbread). Starters include native lobster soup with braised fennel, poached lobster mousse and caviar, Dingley Dell pork, truffle and pistachio pie, and Norfolk quail with chopped liver and onion on toast. 24 The Ned, the City
The Ned is going all out on Christmas Day to serve a festive feast across the Grand Banking Hall. Expect lobster, oysters, Sunday Feast regulars and festive roasts with all the trimmings, plus a cheese and dessert bar with plenty of Christmas puddings, from yule log to spiced cake and mince pies, for dessert. In Cecconi’s there will be a four-course lunch menu packed with Italian classics from crab ravioli and grilled lobster to beef fillet, veal Milanese, burrata and tiramisu. Ned’s Festive Feast is £110 per adult for as much food as you can eat, with drinks charged separately, and £55 for children aged 6-12 (kids under six go free). 25 Bingham Riverhouse, Richmond
Bingham Riverhouse in Richmond is hosting a special Christmas Eve lunch and dinner menu, featuring the likes of confit duck rilette with spiced orange chutney, cranberries and toasted brioche, while on Christmas Day, there’s a sumptuous five-course tasting menu. Seared orkney scallops with pickled leek will start you off and roasted goose with spiced prunes, roast potatoes and a bread sauce feature on the mains. There’s also an a la carte option in the garden rooms on Christmas Day, with options including corn-fed turkey with pork and apple stuffing and truffle potatoes, as well as Christmas pudding trifle with raspberry jam for dessert. Vegan foodies won’t be disappointed, with a plant-based Christmas Day tasting menu too, including a chestnut roast with parsnip and burnt apple puree and a Christmas pudding creme brûlée with vegan ice cream.
