The best new restaurant pubs and bars to try - and look out for - in London this October...

1 Brother Marcus Deli & Bakery, South Kensington

The fourth site for Brother Marcus, the all day eastern Mediterranean restaurant is now open for all day dining in South Kensington. The kitchen is open from brunch through to supper, and this restaurant comes with a deli and a super large bakery counter - the largest for any Brother Marcus in fact. So head here for pistachio and cinnamon swirls, almond croissants and tahini blondies alongside pots of homous, tzatziki, taramasalata, baba ghanoush and marinated olives, for dining in and take away.

2 KOYN, Mayfair

A contemporary izakaya inspired by the Mount Fuji's natural beauty, KOYN is the newest restaurant by the father-daughter team behind Michelin-starred Jamavar, MiMi Mei Fair, Bombay Bustle and Socca - so expect a restaurant with sublime style. Spread across two floors, a sushi bar and and a dining room with leather banquette seating and a mirror skyscape can be found. Descend to the ground floor to find the 'dark volcanic' heart of Mount Fuji that comes with the heat of a charcoal robata grill, sommelier station and guest DJs - not a bad place to end up by any means.

3 Drunch, Fitzrovia

With popular outposts in Mayfair and Regent's Park, Drunch brings its ritzy style of all day eating to Fitzrovia. Decadent dishes include French toast, pancakes and cheesecake for morning meal, while dine on the likes of beef tartare and black truffle and wagyu toast. Head down the stairs to Kave for a stylish den of a speakeasy that comes with djs and cocktails.

4 The Holland, Kensington

Standing where the old Princess Victoria once stood, The Holland is the latest venture by chef Max de Nahlik (ex- the organic certified Duke of Cambridge, Islington). There's a welcoming, relaxed pub at ground level and an elegant dining room found upstairs. Served across both floors, the menu champions seasonal dishes in which British ingredients are prepared simply so that their quality sings. The wine list focuses on European drops, and the Sunday roast looks cracking.

5 Kuro Eatery & Bakery, Notting Hill

Neighbourhood fave, Kuro Coffee has expanded to into a restaurant and bakery. Chef Andriannos Poulis pays tribute to his Greek with a menu full of Mediterranean flavours. Head here for uncomplicated small plates made with seasonal produce, and breezy all day dining.

6 The Audley Public House, Mayfair

This 19th century pub as been restored to it's former glory, with the new interiors remaining true to the original listed ones, and in fact retain some of the original features including the pub ceiling clock. An all-round traditional British pub, the menu also harks back to former London times, with smoked eel and horseradish on toast, fish finger sandwiches and slit pea soup with ham hock. On the taps, Sambrook's Brewery supplies local brews, and you can also get a Guinness too.

7 Rika Moon, Notting Hill

Fine-dining fusion restaurant, Rika Moon serves up Japanese cuisine and imaginative cocktails in a lush interior. With Chef Paul Greening (ex Novikov and Aqua Kyoto) helming the kitchen, expect to chow on the likes of wagyu tataki, Chilean seabass with foie gras miso, as well as a selection of nigiri sushi and sushi maki. Choose from the menu, or chose the Omakase and let the chef decide what he plates up.
