Brasserie of Light is unveiling its fabulously decadent Pink Pegasus Afternoon Tea – served alongside a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé – this Afternoon Tea week. Launching on 14 August and running until 5 October, the fantastical treat will be served from 3pm-5pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The beautifully pink tea will include a selection of indulgent sweet and savoury treats, including fresh smoked salmon on rye bread, shredded Asian vegetable rice paper rolls, a lobster, mango and avocado cocktail, and feta, fennel and red pepper puffs. Sweet treats include pink meringues, a mini Pegasus Pie, passion fruit and butterfly meringue, and a devilish chocolate bubble dessert. Priced £65pp with a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé for two to share. With reference to the famous Mean Girls quote, ‘On Wednesdays we wear pink’, the afternoon tea will be accompanied by music and entertainment with a pink twist on Wednesdays.

2 Matthew Williamson Afternoon Tea at Cadogan’s by Adam Handling, Chelsea
To celebrate the launch of the new Matthew Williamson range from Newby Teas, Cadogan’s by Adam Handling at Belmond Cadogan Hotel have created a special selection of dainty pastries to be served as part of their afternoon tea offering during Afternoon Tea Week. Complementing the flavours of this collection of high-quality loose-leaf tea blends, the Cadogan’s pastry chefs will be dishing up Mandarin & Passionfruit Cremeux and Salted Caramel Sacher with Milk Chocolate Chantilly. Williamson has created three original designs in his signature style for the tea caddies, inspired by the Rajasthan region of India, elaborately hand-painted featuring elephants, tigers, and butterflies in vivid colours. The caddies are available to buy at Cadogan’s at £30 each, or £95 for a gift box of three. The afternoon tea menu at Cadogan’s by Adam Handling features traditional sandwiches such as Valley Smokehouse smoked salmon with dill crème fraîche and rocket, and roasted chicken with mustard mayonnaise, smoked garlic and tomato jam, alongside traditional raisin and plain scones, and savoury choices such as Mushroom & Truffle Egg, or a Chicken Liver Gougére. 3 What’s The Tea? at The Perception at W London, Soho
For a playful take on afternoon tea, try The Perception at W London’s new glitter-filled What’s The Tea?, inspired by the decadent world of drag and presented in a vibrant pink cosmetics case with edible beauty aids. On the first shelf there’s the Red-Lip Sync, a chocolate sponge with vanilla icing, ruby sparkles and rose essence pipette, along with a magical pot of Ageless Queen, made from a cinnamon and lemon custard crème with a violet aroma sugar pot to sprinkle on top. On the opposite side, there are lip-smacking Glitter Balls – sparkling spheres of creamy white chocolate-coated lemon and blueberry cake, and a playful Karamel Kiss lip gloss made from salted-caramel. On the second tier, you’ll find freshly-made Mini Sandwiches baked with turmeric, sumac and chlorophyll and filled with soft cheese and smoked salmon, roast beef and horseradish cream, and egg and mayo mustard. On the final layer, warm fluffy Scones with Clotted Night Cream teamed with fruity Lip Jam await alongside the show-stopping Bronze Up Mousse – an indulgent Oreo mousse topped with bronzed chocolate pearls. 4 Science Afternoon Tea at The Ampersand Hotel, South Kensington
The Ampersand Hotel‘s Science Afternoon Tea is an out-of-this-world way to celebrate National Afternoon Tea Week. Inspired by the neighbouring Natural History and Science Museums, the award-winning Science Afternoon Tea was crowned Best Themed Afternoon Tea at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2018. Alongside a delicious selection of blinis, brioches and warm scones, you can enjoy expertly otherworldly dark chocolate & passion fruit planet mousse, chocolate spacemen, redcurrant & lychee macaroons, and dust for mini dinosaur biscuit ‘fossils’ hidden beneath chocolate soil. 5 Summer Rose Garden Afternoon Tea at Palm Court, Kimpton Fitzroy London
Palm Court at Kimpton Fitzroy London, overlooking Russell Square, has launched a new limited-edition Summer Rose Garden Afternoon Tea in partnership with Laurent-Perrier. The hotel’s bright central space has been transformed into a rose garden in bloom, where you can enjoy a menu of intricately crafted pastries to match the delicate flavours of Laurent-Perrier’s iconic Cuvée Rosé. Executive Pastry Chef, Thibault Marchand – recently named the winner of Channel Four’s Bake Off: The Professionals – has created an afternoon tea beginning with sandwiches like roast chicken with grain mustard and rocket, and smoked salmon with fennel, apple and trout roe, followed by a selection of plain and raspberry-and-rose flavoured homemade scones with cream and lemon curd, as well as a special raspberry, rose and Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé jam. Summer rose-inspired pastries have been designed to replicate different flowers from the garden, like the red rose gateau filled with chocolate and hazelnut mousse, cherry confit and finished with a raspberry chocolate glaze and raspberry tuille, as well as a flower-shaped French choux with white chocolate petals and a sugar-paste butterfly. 6 Butterfly Kisses Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Ivy Café, Wimbledon
The Ivy Café, Wimbledon has teamed up with one of France’s most historic Champagne houses, Perrier-Jouët, to launch a sumptuous Butterfly Kisses Champagne afternoon tea. Available for a limited-time only, from 5 August-29 September, the indulgent treat features an array of delicious sweet and savoury favourites such as truffled chicken brioche roll, marinated cucumber and dill sandwiches, warm fruited scones with Dorset clotted cream and chocolate salted caramel mousse. The restaurant itself will be decorated with 400 origami butterflies hanging from the restaurant ceiling, creating a summery canopy under which to enjoy your tea. 7 Spanish Afternoon Tea, COMO The Halkin, Belgravia
COMO The Halkin in Belgravia is serving up a unique take on the British tradition of afternoon tea created by the Michelin-starred team at the hotel’s restaurant, Ametsa with Arzak Instruction. The restaurant, a collaboration by Elena Arzak and her father Juan Mari Arzak, has created an afternoon tea menu drawing on the principles of Basque cuisine.
