Patara’s latest opening in charming Hampstead is everything you would expect and more. The gold and blue tones on the walls fuse to create a relaxed and luxurious setting with high end Thai cuisine on offer, plus a dessert menu that could have you coming back every week…
Words: Rachel Mantock
Priding themselves on delivering exceptionally executed, contemporary Thai food, beautifully presented inside an elegant setting, Patara delivers high end dining with relaxation at the core. All their chefs are trained in Thailand meaning that they fuse traditional cooking methods with the experimental, faultlessly blending eastern and western techniques to create dishes that appeal to all palettes.
With restaurants across Switzerland, Austria and Thailand, Patara Hampstead is their most recent London opening, boasting a dessert menu that is dangerously light with bold flavours, meaning you could literally eat everything on the dessert menu comfortably.

As you walk inside you are hit with chic dark woods, brushed stone floors and vibrant azure blues and golds, creating a oceanic type feel, along with large Thai motifs and textured wall carvings. The absolute stand-out performer has to be their chocolate fondant, heaven on a platter, filled with dark chocolate lava and served with creamy salted caramel ice cream. The Pandanus crème brûlée is also among my top dessert picks, fluffy and baked to perfection, as is the Taro and pumpkin dumplings.
