Marvel at vintage boats when the Classic Boat Festival moors up at St Katharine Dock this September.

As part of the month-long celebration of London's mighty river, Totally Thames 22, the Classic Boat Festival runs across the weekend of Friday, September, 9 to Sunday September 11.

The festival will showcase around 40 beautifully preserved vintage boats, including several of the surviving war hero Dunkirk Little Ships, which rescued 336,000 trapped Allied soldiers on the beaches at Dunkirk in 1940, and the Bates Starcraft - the classic British wooden cruiser.

Boats on display include work boats, sailing yachts an motor yachts, and the best part about this, is you can climb on board and explore the boats too.

The all-ages festival is free, and will also have boatbuilding workshops, live music, kids' events and talks.

Yachting celebrity Tom Cunliffe, who has sailed boats to South America, Greenland and the USSR has been confirmed as a guest speaker, as have the custodians of HM The Queen's Row Barge 'Gloriana', and photographer Jonathon Goldberg.
