Just when this summer looks set to never arrive, a piece of news comes that makes it feel like it’s a total wash out already.

Christmas festive bonanza, Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, returns once again and general release tickets will go on sale soon

A staple event in many people’s festive calendars, the event returns for its 16th season transforming the Royal park into a one-stop Christmas experience from Friday, November 17, 2023 to Monday, January 1, 2024.

This year, the festival comes with a few tweaks and additions and tickets go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, August 2.

This year, The Magical Ice Kingdom comes with a Norse Mythology theme. Built with more than 500 tonnes of snow and ice, the immersive kingdom invites people to stroll through the Land o Giants, fire and Ice and admire Norse Gods and Goddesses.

Presented in a temperature-controlled environment kept at a frosty -10 C, The Magical Ice Kingdom is one of the largest ice exhibitions in Europe, with some sculptures extending beyond five metres high.

Also new this year, arts festival Underbelly will run Hyde Park Winter Wonderland’s market.

Complete with a Scandinavian theme, the Christmas Market will have brightly coloured Danish-style chalets, artisanal crafts and plenty of hygge spots to snuggle into for a hot chocolate or mulled wine.

The Santaland Unlimited Pass is another new addition for this year’s event. Offering unrestricted access to ore than 15 family-friendly rides including race-O-Rama, Santaland Express train, Racing Coaster and the Reindeer Ride, passholders can also enter the Winter Wonderland for free.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland runs November 17 to January 1, open daily 10am to 10pm apart from Christmas Day.
