David Lloyd Clubs Launch ‘Slopercise’ Ski Fitness Plan

Heading for the slopes? Get ski-fit first with Crystal Ski Holidays and David Lloyd Clubs’s new ‘Slopercise’ exercise programme designed to reduce injury risk and improve endurance on the slopes

As ski and snowboarding season rapidly approaches, ski holiday operator Crystal Ski Holidays has teamed up with David Lloyd Clubs to make sure you start the season without any aches and pains with a ‘Slopercise’ fitness plan to get you in tip-top shape.

After noticing that people were spending about as much time on the sofa nursing aches and pains as they were on the slopes doing what they loved, Crystal Ski Holidays and David Lloyd Clubs teamed up to help you get ski-season fit with a fun, easy-to-follow three-step exercise plan.

‘During the winter season, we’re talking with our customers in resort daily and know aches and pains are common, said Lindsey Cairns, Crystal Ski Holiday’s Overseas General Manager. ‘And as we want to ensure everyone is able to get the most out of their holiday this forthcoming season, we created the Slopercise exercise plan with the fitness experts at David Lloyd Clubs.’

Slopercise is an intense workout designed to reduce injury risk and improve endurance on-piste with moves inspired by the slopes, such as the Mogul Ski Hop, Powder Snow Pole Pull and Après-Ski Stein Squat.

The sessions focus on improving leg symmetry for balance and control, flexibility around the ankle and hip joints for fluid movement, mid-line stability for stronger landings and lower body power and endurance. The classes provide clear progression over time and, if followed on a regular basis, Slopercise will soon have you ski-fit and supple with develop buns of steel!

David Lloyd Clubs’ members can take advantage of Synrgy 360 Slopercise classes, available at selected clubs across the country as of 30 October, including classes for 11-15 year olds, adults and teens aged 14+, and adults and kids aged 8+.
