Holiday House Interior Design Showcase to Open in London

Holiday House NYC provides a blank canvas for top interior designers to let their imaginations run wild for charity, and now it’s coming to London…

Holiday House, founded in 2008 by interior designer Iris Dankner, is an interior design showhouse put together by top interior designers and lifestyle brands to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This year, in celebration of the 10th annual Holiday House NYC, the inaugural Holiday House London will open up the doors of two houses in St John’s Wood, kitted out by 25 leading designers whose brief is to let their imaginations run wild. Iris, a member on the board of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, is also celebrating 20 years as a breast cancer survivor.

Since partnering with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Holiday House has raised over $1 million dollars to the charity, which invests 91 cents of every dollar in its mission to end breast cancer.

Holiday House London will showcase the capital’s renowned interior designers and lifestyle brands such as Fiona Barratt Interiors, Nina Campbell x Justin Van Breda, Studio QD with Nicky Haslam, Laura Hammett, Roche Bobois for Roger Hodgson (the Legendary Co-Founder of Supertramp), Shalini Misra LTD and Roselind Wilson Design.

Shalini Misra will design the master bedroom for Holiday House London. Named Marooned in Morocco, the master bedroom will recreate the feel of a plush Moroccan boutique hotel with deep reds, soft greys, metallic finishes and clever paint effects using a sophisticated colour palette from Farrow & Ball to create a romantic, contemporary space.

Roche Bobois has collaborated with Philippe Maidenberg to create a Dreamer’s Lounge, imagined as a tribute to Supertramp’s legendary frontman, Roger Hodgson

Roche Bobois, the purveyor of French ‘Art de Vivre’, has collaborated with internationally-acclaimed architect Philippe Maidenberg to create a Dreamer’s Lounge. Located in the attic, Dreamer’s Lounge has been imagined as a tribute to Supertramp’s legendary frontman, Roger Hodgson.

Each piece in the room contributes to the overall concept of this dreamer’s paradise, with Roche Bobois’ iconic Mah Jong sofa taking centre stage as the ideal cocoon of comfort and creativity. Hodgson’s lyrics have been painted across the walls and floor and Maidenberg has also incorporated leading technology trends such as virtual reality, 3D surfaces, sculptural lighting and an interactive musical experience.

Ticketed entry and special events, including the Opening Night Gala on Wednesday 8 November, will raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s research programmes in the UK.

Holiday House London will take place at 59 & 61 Hamilton Terrace, St John’s Wood NW8 9RG. Open 7 days a week from 9 November until 10 December 2017. For further details see theholidayhouselondon.com
