New London Pub Serves Roast with Bottomless Yorkshire Puddings

Andaz London Liverpool Street hotel has relaunched its pub with fantastic Sunday roasts (with bottomless Yorkshire puddings!), pop-up entertainment and even an artificial intelligence barmaid! 

It’s out with the George – the hotel’s previous version of the pub – and in with Lady Abercorn’s Pub & Kitchen at the Andaz, which is a fitting choice, given that 2018 marks 100 years since British women won the right to vote (and the George was rather, dare we say, laddish). The hotel is also big on making the most of its locale, so it has chosen to honour one of east London’s most iconic landladies; Lady Abercorn.

Lady Abercorn has even been recreated in AI form – yep, that’s right, the pub has a robot barmaid! Built on Lady Abercorn’s unique personality, you can chat to the barmaid on Facebook messenger about a range of topics, from how to escape a terrible date, to what the meaning of life really is. She can also make bookings and deliver secret offers on drinks and food.

But what has really piqued our interest is Lady Abercorn’s Sunday roasts with bottomless Yorkshire puddings and unique gravies. Roasts include roast corn-fed chicken with a Madeira jus, beef sirloin with horseradish jus, pork loin with sherry-glazed apple and prune jus and a vegetable Wellington. That beef sirloin is fantastic, FYI.

The Grade II listed venue is quintessentially English, packed with original Victorian features including cast iron windows, original wooden paneling on the walls, oil paintings in elaborate gilded frames and coats of arms.

Plus, no two trips to the pub will ever be the same, with live performances popping up unannounced, from musicians to magicians and silhouette painters to add a little extra to your evening of dinner or drinks with friends.
