1 The Shed and The Rabbit
Acclaimed Chelsea restaurant Rabbit and its sister venue in Notting Hill, The Shed, are offering a vegan only menu to run alongside their traditional meaty option. The vegan menu is for those not wishing to tuck into turkey but crave some yuletide treats nonetheless. The vegan festive feast will include endive with artichoke mud and thyme, beetroot crisps with pear and sorrel and an oak smoked potato with quince. The menu goes on to include sharing plates of wild mushroom ragu, tempura cabbage and salt baked turnips.

2 Christmas feast at Smith & Wollensky
Smith & Wollensky has been serving up the finest steak in America since it opened its doors in New York in 1977. Last year, Smith & Wollensky launched its first London site in the historic Grade II-listed Adelphi Building just off the Strand, and is now offering up its first festive menu. This Christmas, the restaurant is offering a three-course feast featuring an array of meat and seafood dishes and priced at £58 per person. It’s for all of those wishing to swap the traditional turkey for lashings of delicious red meat.

This year, each of the twelve days of Christmas will be extra special at Gunpowder Restaurant. On 12 December and each day leading up to the 25th, Head Chef Nirmal Save will be showcasing a one-night-only festive special. Gunpowder has put its unique twist on a selection of dishes that combine the distinctive Indian flavours and home-style cooking of the restaurant with classic Christmas favourites. Expect to try a Bengal Spiced Root Vegetable Parcel with crispy coriander or their Goose Pepper Fry on a rice doughnut, Kosbadi Rabbit Masala and Wild Mushroom Bharva Mirch. 4 The Cinnamon Club
Set within the exquisite surroundings of the Grade II-listed Old Westminster Library, The Cinnamon Club has an array of private rooms to host the perfect Christmas gathering. The team has compiled six separate festive menus for guests to choose from, ranging from £35 to £75 per person. They’ve also thrown together some festive cocktails to help you get into the Christmas spirit with the signature Cinnamon Bellini and Aromatic Fire. On Christmas Day, opt for a four-course Indian-inspired feast for £100 per person.

5 The Wright Brothers
Especially for Christmas, seafood and oyster specialist The Wright Brothers is serving some ultra-indulgent feasts at their Soho and Spitalfields restaurants. The menus feature the likes of chargrilled wild king prawns with chilli, pancetta, cabbage and daikon to start as well as a pan-fried hake with orange segments, air dried tuna and sweetcorn salsa for main. Guests can opt to dine in the giant Lobster Cage for up to 18 guests, a unique semi-private dining area located on the lower-ground floor surrounded by an open kitchen.

6 108 Brasserie
108 Brasserie in Marylebone is celebrating the holidays with a decadent Christmas Day menu. Executive Chef Russell Ford is cooking up a five-course feast for £75 per person. Choose from a selection of classic British dishes and seasonal delights including starters of seared Isle of Sky scallops with curried parsnip and Monmouthshire ham and wild game consommé; mains of Caldecott Farm Free Range Bronze Turkey served with all the trimmings, roasted monkfish with poached Scottish lobster, leeks and potato gaufrette, or the vegetarian option of chestnut & shallot tart tatin with goat’s cheese, braised chicory and roasted beets. Decadent desserts and cheese will also be served. The Christmas Day Menu is available on Saturday 25 December from 12noon-10.30pm. You can also enjoy the Festive Afternoon Tea up until Christmas Eve for just £28 per person.

Developed by newly-appointed Executive Chef Liam Smith-Laing, Bluebird Chelsea’s Christmas Day menu will highlight the best of British produce including London-cured smoked salmon with crème fraiche and Aquitaine caviar, roast Norfolk Bronze turkey with creamed sprouts, bacon and chestnuts and molten chocolate pudding with pecans and iced milk. The menu is priced at £95 per person and will book up well before the special day, so do book early.

For the merry month of December, Diciannove is serving a choice of two Christmas menus created by head chef Alessandro Bay, who spent 10 years crafting his skills under Giorgio Locatelli. The Piccolo Menu (£35pp) starts with an Il Supremo Italian meat and cheese patter featuring fried calamari, fried zucchini, fennel salami, prosciutto Toscana, mozzarella di bufala and pickles, followed by roast turkey with all the trimmings (or pan-fried cod) and a Christmas pudding oozing in brandy sauce (or classic tiramisu). There’s also a Grande Menu with the addition of a pasta course and pan-fried rack of lamb as the main course, for £50pp. Served until 23 December.

The grande dame of Old Compton Street will be flinging open it’s doors and welcoming all those for whom the festive season is more about ‘craic’ than ‘cracker’. Enjoy three courses for £70, with must-tries of twice baked soufflé with stilton and broccoli as well as the Norfolk Bronze turkey with chestnut and cranberry stuffing, pigs in blankets, sprouts and bread sauce. The winter feasts will force those belt notches further and further apart.

Why not swap the traditional turkey for some exotic Beijing Duck? Located on the 10th floor of the five-star Royal Garden Hotel, Min Jiang offers authentic Chinese cuisine with a view spectacular view of Kensington Palace Gardens and the city skyline. The restaurant is offering a seven-course festive feast with a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes from £90 per person. Diners can also pre-order Min Jiang’s legendary Beijing Duck, prepared by chefs from Beijing according to an ancient recipe and cooked in a wood-fired oven. The traditional dish is presented in two servings and diners are treated to a culinary display as specially-trained chefs carve it at the table (an additional £33 for a half duck, £60 whole).

The Lebanese canteen that offers fresh, affordable Middle Eastern cuisine with flair has created a festive menu with a twist for their Kingston branch. Enjoy a healthy spread of Lebanese mezze to share, followed by a choice of main and a selection of baklawa (authentic sweet pastries) and fresh rose mint tea, all for just £19.95 per person. Instead of turkey, try salmon marinated in pomegranate molasses and sumac or ginger and lemon chicken with cranberry spiced rice. Ceviche Old Street, housed in what was once the legendary and now fully restored Alexandra Trust Dining Rooms, is bringing the soul of Lima to its Christmas festivities. Indulge in sharing menus with coastal Peruvian inspired dishes like Seco de Cordero (braised lamb, dark beer and coriander sauce with butter bean tacu tacu), Picante de Pato (braised duck leg, panca-peanut sauce, steamed rice, choclo corn) and Wild Boar Seco (braised in smoked panca chilli and pomegranate molasses, apple cider, Amarillo chilli, five-spice and cumin) alongside dishes such as sautéed Brussels sprouts with amarillo chilli, pisco raisins and almonds.

Town House at The Kensington is spread across three classically designed drawing rooms, serving locally-sourced, seasonal modern British cuisine.
