1 Italian Aperitivo Cocktail Masterclass at Brunello Bar
Brunello Bar and Restaurant at the Baglioni hotel in Kensington has just launched a series of Italian Aperitivo Cocktail Masterclasses. And what a setting! Inspired by Milanese trattorias but with a side of Kensington glamour, it’s probably the most glamourous setting you’ll ever get away with squeezing lemon juice all over the bar. Bar Manager Emilio Preiata and his team of pros will show you how to make three signature Baglioni aperitivos – the signature spritz, a Prescription and the Baglioni 60 – while enjoying delicious bite-size delicacies form the kitchen, including parmigiana, arancini, bruschetta and risotto alla Milanese. Sessions take place of Saturdays 21 October, 4 November, 18 November, 2 December and 16 December from 5pm-7.30pm. £69 per person.

2 Bankside School of Food and Wine’s Cocktail Masterclasses 
This October, Bankside is celebrating its foodie credentials with the Bankside School of Food and Wine. At Hixter Bankside you can learn how to recreate Mark’s Bars renowned cocktails in a 90-minute hands-on class (Mon-Sat, 12-8pm, £45, email reservations@hixterbankside.co.uk to book). At Union Street Cafe, you’ll learn how to make a classic cocktail and a signature cocktail (Tues-Sat, 3pm-5pm, £30, book via gordonramsayrestaurants.com) and at The Refinery Bankside, you can discover the secrets behind your favourite cocktails, learn all the tricks of the trade, then get behind the bar and have a go yourself (multiple dates available, £34.95 including a two-course meal, email bankside@therefinerybar.co.uk to book).

3 TT-Liquor’s Interactive Cocktail Classes
TT-liquor runs oodles of regular cocktail classes, where their in-house mixologists will teach you to make (then drink) a selection of four different cocktails in one their our custom-built cocktail bars. Classes last two hours an, with their mobile cocktail bars, they can also come to you (they do hen dos, too). At the end, you can indulge in some healthy competition as each cocktail bar competes against the rest to make their own cocktail using a range of liquors, spirits, syrups, fresh fruits and juices. Check out their molecular cocktail making class, too, where you take the scientific techniques of molecular gastronomy and apply them to your own unique ‘lab-produced’ cocktails. Public masterclasses take place on Fridays from 7pm and Saturdays from 1pm. Larger group classes also available. From £70 per person.

4 Cocktail Masterclasses at German Gymnasium’s Meister Bar
Choose from a taster class (£30pp), beginner class (£50pp) or advanced class at German Gymnasium. All masterclasses include a selection of bar snacks, a guided cocktail making experience plus a certificate at the end. With the taster class you’ll make two cocktails, with the beginner’s class you’ll also take a basic ice carving class and the winner of the cocktail competition will receive a bottle of the Bar Manager’s specially selected spirit. Take the advanced class and you’ll learn how to make three cocktails, take an advanced ice carving class and the winner of the cocktail competition will win a £65 bar kit. Classes for 10-20 people. Monday-Sunday from 12pm.

5 London Cocktail Club Masterclass
The London Cocktail Club runs masterclasses that cater for everyone from the total rookie to the home-bartending pro. Enjoy a cocktail on arrival while you meet and greet your bartender who will teach you how to make three cocktails, sharing tips, secrets and top techniques, as well as a little history of cocktails. Classes are 90 minutes long and available for 2-25 people (groups smaller than 10 may be paired with other small groups). £40 per person. Time slots vary per location (London Cocktail Club has bars in Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, Covent Garden among other locations).
