While the days may be getting darker and the weather chillier, the arrival of autumn also means the sumptuous start of truffle season.

The Resident sent Sophie Ritchie off in search of London’s best truffle dishes, from decadent burgers to indulgent fix six-course fungi feasts…

1 Truffle Hunting at Hush
If you love truffles, you’ll love Hush’s new truffle hunting extravaganza. Hosted in partnership with Amaro Montenegro, one of Italy’s most famous Italian liqueurs, it will see the restaurant’s famous cobbled courtyard transformed into an enchanted Italian forest for a whole two months. With autumnal foliage decor and fairy light canopies, diners can enjoy an array of truffle specials including truffle scrambled eggs with toasted brioche, truffle cacio e pepe and truffle & porcini mushrooms with parmesan polenta, all served topped with shaved Italian autumn black truffles.

2 Zuma’s Seabass Sashimi with Yuzu and Truffle Oil
Knightsbridge legend Zuma celebrates its 15th birthday in October with an exclusive tasting menu by co-founder and creator, Rainer Becker, that features a couple of outstanding truffle dishes. The meeting of truffle oil and yuzu with thinly sliced seabass and salmon roe in the Suzuki no Sashimi dish is a taste sensation. There’s also a freshly seared wagyu sirloin tataki with black truffle ponzu that’s, again, out of this world. The bespoke five-course, 11-dish tasting menu is available in London only for the month of October priced at £124 per person (wine and sake pairing is available for an additional £62 per person.

3 Skylon’s Six Course Truffle Tasting Menu
Skylon, nestled on London’s Southbank, will be offering a special truffle menu throughout November and December. Designed by Executive Chef Kim Woodward, the luxurious six-course tasting menu features highlights including; Terrine of guinea fowl, black truffles and pickled mushrooms; Seared scallop, roasted chicken thigh, walnuts and black truffles; Alpaco chocolate mousse, truffle soil, clementine and Angostura bitters.

4 Black Truffle & Scallop Sashimi at Novikov
If there was ever such a thing as flavour harmony, Novikov’s moreish scallop and black truffle sashimi (served in the Asian side of this dual cuisine restaurant) would be it. Order up a plate (or three) for a unique dish to celebrate this year’s truffle season.

5 Sartoria’s White Truffle Menu
Hailing all things truffle, Francesco Mazzei and his team at Sartoria has created an entire menu dedicated to the white truffle. From 9 October, choose from beef battuta with sage and white truffle, tagliolini cacio e pepe with white truffle and risotto Grana Padano Riserva and white truffle. Harbour a sweet tooth? Make sure to order the zabaglione con tartufo bianco; a truffle-infused take on the traditional Italian dessert.

8 Truffle Gets Meaty at Blanchette Soho & Blanchette Brick Lane
Can’t get enough of juicy red carne? Offering mouth-watering meat at its finest, modern French bistro Blanchette Soho will be serving up a delicious dry-aged beef fillet with summer vegetables vinaigrette and fresh truffle delight.
